Thank you all for your support and helpful input. I really appreciate it. Bonnie, 45 minutes, are you serious? If I drive 22 and you drive 22, we could meet sometime. I would LOVE that. Maybe we could go see Sally

Ok, tablet acting up again. Half of my post is floating around in cyberspace. I finished by saying that D man had a good day and I think it is too early for the Metacam to be working. I think it is all the thoughts and prayers from here. Thank you! Lori, Ty, C , L and D man

Yep, glad to hear Sweet Daryl is better......and will get more so as the days go by.

Lori, yes, you are no more than 45 minutes away, maybe less.....it takes us about 20-25 minutes to get to the heart of Gettysburg.....love that place.  I will certainly love to meet sometime, so just let me know, and I also think since we missed the get together last June in Richmond, we may have to get another one together so we can hopefully be there this time. I was busy with too much pet sitting then, not to mention still grieving heavily from my loss of Polly......Sally, Elizabeth, Deb, and everyone else that was fortunate enough to be able to attend, how about it??!! Just maybe we can make it before my pet sit schedule picks up again for the late spring, early summer. Pearl wants to meet everyone, but I really do myself, more than anything......maybe we can call this a Tripawd Alumni gathering, still with Tripawds and also quadpawds....!! My hubby said he would be glad to drive to Richmond again.......just sayin'......!!

Love to all,

Bonnie & Angel Polly

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh my gosh, so much to catch up on, Lori -- what a rough time for you. So sorry poor Daryl has been through so much but like everyone else has said, at least it's not the dreaded C-word. Hip dysplasia is manageable. Lexie had some of that and swimming and PT helped her tremendously.

The other thing that helped is GlycoFlex III supplements. Takes about a month or so, but what a difference!

Let me know if you are interested in ramps for Daryl. I got 3 different kinds off CraigsList and Lexie used them grudgingly right after surgery, and they need a good home.

I can tell you firsthand that Dr. Lori Pasternak of Helping Hands in Richmond and her practice are wonderful. More on that to come later.

I would *love* to have a Tripawds gathering with y'all. If Northern VA sounds like a good halfway point for you, Bonnie, Sally and Elizabeth I will be happy to host. :-)

Have to run now, but will be back in touch soon. Big hugs to you and your boy.

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.

Hooray for Darryl!! So glad he had a good day. We might have to all meet at your place Lori, I think you had us all at "winery"! haha.

You guys can count me in for Northern Va if that's a good meeting point for everyone.

Do you see that, what Darryl did? He started a tripawd party without even knowing it :)

So hoppy that he's perked up!

I'm jealous too, wish we could be at this future gathering. Be sure to put it in "Tripawd parties" and we can help get the word out.
