Our male pitbull was Dx with osteosarcoma about 2 months ago and had his left rear leg amputated he was already walking on 3 legs for about 2 weeks, but with pain.  His name is Tiger. Surgery went well, 3 weeks later 1st chemo went well then last week he started to walk differently and about 2 days ago his right rear leg went totally limp and he has redness between his toes, leg is warm, not hot, and he is moving on his butt to get around. Of course my husband uses the sling to hold him up, he now weighs about 86lbs.

Also our female pitbull, Lily,  was just diagnosed 1 week ago to have what appears to be hemangiosarcoma in her abdomen, liver and spleen, and we are doing the best we can and we have 5 little dogs, all rescues.

Anyway Tiger had X-Ray, no sign of cancer spreading, but also no answers. He had TPLO surgery on both rear legs about 5 years ago.

I cannot describe how distraught we are and feel helpless.  My husband is taking Tiger to the neurologist shortly. Please everyone send good thoughts.

Oh my gosh I'm sorry to hear about Tiger and Lily. No wonder you are worried. Lean on us, we are here to help.

So about Tiger: that's good there is no sign of the cancer. Any idea what might have caused him to start having trouble getting around? What was his daily activity like before this started? Oftentimes, this kind of things is a matter of a dog doing more activity than the dog is currently capable of doing. And usually it's treatable with pain management and rest. Did your vet give him any pain medication? If so, what kind? And does your vet have a plan to address his mobility issue? What did they say? Also, have you seen a rehab therapist for him yet? If not, please ask your vet for a referral. A therapist can often address the pain cause pretty quickly and help Tiger to feel better. The Tripawds Foundation can pay for your first rehab visit too!

And when it comes to Lilly, I'm really sorry to hear about her potential diagnosis. When will you know more? The holiday weekend must be making the wait agonizing, I'm really sorry!

Your future posts won't need to wait for approval so post away.

Oh my gosh!  I can't  even begin to imagine how you are holding it  together at all!   Clearly you are stronger than you realize as  you are able to  focus on options and solutions  and quaility for both Tiger and Lily..   They are so lucky tonjave you as their hoomans,  as are all of your rescues.  You and your husband have huge hearts♥️♥️

We'll look for your update  on Tiger and feedback to Jerry's post when you can.  As Jerry indicated,  there are a lot things that could be going on, all treatable.    It could even be related to the TPL aurger... maybe infection or falling apart..something along those lines???.  Srill fixavle.👌

Try and stay positive and know that we are all eight here bynyour side.  You are not alone, okay?
