My mom ordered the webmaster harness for Brady and we got it today. When I measured him before (probably incorrectly) he came out at 31"...so we ordered a Medium harness. I was so excited when I got it, I took the tag off and went to put it on him....much to my dismay, with adjusting it as loose as it will go, it's still too tight. I need to order him a bigger one I don't think I can return this now that he had it on and the tag is off. I measured him again, and he's about 34-35". *sigh*
Can I still return this? Does anyone know? I don't really understand what the return site says. Will I get a restocking fee even though I just need a different size? I don't want my mom to be out money because *I* measured wrong. Help!
Hi folks, I put your post here since we're talking about Mobility and Hopping Around. You can always email us directly with other harness questions if you prefer.
Hang in there. About 99 percent of people who think their harness is too small find that it is not once they follow these instructions. I'm thinking it probably does fit. There is such a big variation in your original and second measurements and most dogs who wear a large are giant breeds and super large Labs, not Heelers. That would have to be one BIG heeler to wear a large!
OK so before you go through the return process, let's be certain it is indeed too small. MANY people believe the harness is too small when they receive it but that's only because Ruff Wear ships all harnesses with the straps pulled ALL the way in. About 99 percent of the time, the harness fits after people follow these steps:
------------
Extend all harness webbing straps completely out until the end of each strap reaches the corresponding buckle. Keep in mind that strap ends may be tucked inside the padded strap sleeves.
The entire length of the harness straps are actually tucked way into the padded strap sleeves. Sometimes loosening them takes some persistence, but unless you see the loose end of each strap, they haven't been pulled out all the way.
The harness has five adjustment points and it ships tightened to the smallest configuration. Please ensure all the straps extending from the three-point front support junction are also adjusted properly. They can each be extended for a looser fit.
The chest and belly straps can also be lengthened. The harness should be snug, but not constricting.
Let us know if this works. I am also happy to walk you through the adjustment process on the phone too, just email me to set up a time to chat.

Okay, thank you! I'll give it another go. Brady is actually a pretty tall heeler. LOL...the surgeon actually commented that he was the tallest heeler he's ever seen. I'll post back shortly to let you know if I was able to get it to fit. The only part that seemed to small was the strap that goes behind his front leg. The chest and rear seemed to be loose enough but able to be snugged up....be back in a little bit!
THANK YOU!

OOOOOOOOHHH SOOOOOOO handsome Brady!!!
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. All right, Brady! You are going to love that harness. Murphy won't go up the ramp Into the car without his on. It is his security blanket. While he was recuperating from the hip replacement, he literally lived in his for a month, and then wore it whenever he went outside for several more months. We still use it whenever we know he will have to be on unfamiliar slick floors.
And what can I say? That blue bandanna is definitely your color!
Kathi and Murphy
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
