I have spent part of today remembering how much Calamity loved to run. I have vidoes of almost every race she ever ran and some days I like to watch her. They all perk up their ears when they hear the lure come around the track, remembering the excitement they must have felt.

I just thought I'd share one with you.....not her best race, but it shows her skills. She was always the best in the 1, 2 or 3 hole as she loved to "run the rail", being in the 8 hole (as she is in this video) made it hard for her as she had to cross the field of runners to get to her beloved rail. You can see her figuring out what she must do as soon as she pops from the box.

I hope you enjoy watching my girl as much as I enjoy it over & over again.

I am so blessed to have been able to adopt her at the end of her career. Her only sister is a brood mom at the farm now and I'm sure that is where Calamity would be.

while I hate the way the greyhound racing community handles and treats it's old racers, I have to admit that it's so exciting to watch them run.   Do you ever participate in lure coursing?  The dogs love it.

Here are some pics of Radar when he got his junior courser certificate last spring.

Radar always had a smile on his face when he ran.

Thanks for sharing Calamity's video.

He's beautiful!!! So graceful & happy. I love how his coat flows with his movement.

I coursed my first greyhound, but none of the others. I have this very bad fear of them getting loose & I can not run to catch them!! LOL!  I love to go watch the coursing events when they have them here though.

I don't want this to turn into a "racing" debate at all. I just wanted to share something that made me smile. She is what she is, a retired racer. I embrace her for all that she was and all that she will be. I love her.

No debate at all and I have nothing but great respect for the angels who bring the retired racers into their lives and give them a forever home.
