You're  being very proactive.  Good for you!! Getting  different  opinions and questioning  everybody is a good strategy  for figuring  out what seems the most logical approach  for you and for Hamish.

It may not feel like it, but you' are making progress!!!😎

Thanks Sally!

I feel like I saw some tiny progress in his use of the leg today, but hard to be sure, he certainly seems more settled and comfortable, and more adventurous at trying to get around, which makes me hope there’s less pain, which can only mean good things!

YAY! Here's to more tiny steps that will eventually lead to him being totally healed. Good news!

Yes, less pain means good things.  I KNOW it so hard to be patient, but rest, rest, rest, slooooowy and easy for the next several weeks (and then some).   Stay the course, keep managing  the pain and keep us updated.   You're  doing a great job!

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to update you on Hamish.

Went to see the orthapedic surgeon today, he was impressed with how much better he is. He’s not using the leg properly but is tentatively putting it down as he hops around, his hip is a lot more comfortable under examination now. He will happily go to the toilet on his own now without support now.

Have got him on YuMove Pro as well (joint supplement), seeing physio tomorrow. Will keep you posted!

YAAAAAAAAY FOR  HAMISH!!!😁😁😁😁😁   SOOOOO HAPPY  TO HEAR HAMISH IS DOING BETTER!!!

As we've  already said, it's sooooo hard to be patient and to take things slowly.  As you can see though, staying the course  and taking things slowly is what is needed for continued improvement. And every seemingly  "little" improvement is a HUGE improvement!!!

Thanks for the update! Made my day!😁

Seriously great news! I'll bet your mind is more at ease right? What a fantastic report. I've heard good things about YuMove so I hope it works for him too. Give him extra kisses from all of us. YAY!

Thanks everyone, your replies were lovey to read!

Physio went well, she said he’s lost some muscle in the back leg and is very weak there, so we’ve been doing daily leg strengthening on it, he also had some laser therapy, electro-magnetic therapy and infra red to help with pain, he loved it and was so relaxed.

We had another post injury first today - This morning after doing a wee, Hamish carried on standing up for a good ten seconds. I felt like a mum watching her baby taking his first steps!! We will keep you all posted with updates.

Hooray for Hamish! Wheeee!

Glad to hear physio is going well and he's enjoying the treatments. In time you should be able to see even more improvements and longer stretches of standing. What a great bit of news.

Paula your gang is soooooo cute 🙂

Hi all.

hamish had his second rehab appointment yesterday, she was pleased with his progress and could tell we’d been working hard on his massages and exercises. He has some new ones now which is around us retraining him on how to sit properly, stand and walk, as he’s learnt some weird ways of doing them all that have likely contributed to the hip problem.

He is really well in himself, but his hopping around like mad so having to slow him down now! We have a dog pram which lets me take him out without breaking my back, he loves the time out and gets lots of attention, you can see it lifts his spirits as well!
