Can the Ruff Wear Webmaster Harness be worn 24/7?

Corndog is doing really well getting around, (can't believe it's not even 3 weeks). He's been wearing the Lift n Aid sling thing 24/7 since he came home, and it has worked fine for us so far and seems to be comfortable for him, up until the last few days, now the front straps are slipping down on him and stopping him from getting up sometimes, think it must be getting stretched out from all the cockroaching he's been doing.

We feel like he needs to still wear something all the time as he's nearly fallen out of bed (yes our bed) during the night (or day) a few times, or he'll be up on the sofa and get stuck and need help up.

We didn't buy the Ruff Wear harness right from the start as everyone seems to agree here that it's not great when they still have stitches.

His stitches came out last week and the incision looks really good,  (other than one spot, that's another topic for later.)

So does anyone else wear a harness all the time? Or have any suggestions?

gayle didn't wear hers all the time.  usually, we'd put it on when she went out in the back yard, and always when we went 'out' to a vet appt, etc.  she didn't mind wearing it, and often once we were inside, if i got distracted, she was happy as a clam to keep it on and nap as usual.  i think i remember reading that jerry wore his most of the time, i'm sure they will chime in.  glad those stitches are all out and the incision looks good - we waited for that too, before we started with the ruffwear harness .

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

Jerry practically wore his around the clock for nearly two years. We did take it off at night for comfort, but it was certainly helpful anytime he wasn't sleeping. The only concern should be whether or not Corndog is a chewer. Many happy customers have tried to return a harness their dog has eaten, but Ruff Wear does not warrant against damage by dogs.

If there is any chance Corndog may have a go at the straps or buckles, we recommend taking it off for any long duration when he may be out of sight. Otherwise, keep the straps loose enough to fit two fingers beneath, leave the harness on and watch for signs of chafing.
