If it makes you feel any better I was down by about 15 pounds in January. The winter got too long and I found the 15 back. It was a buy one get one 1/2 off so they threw in the 15 plus an extra 5 way-confusedway-confused

Just to round up this thread, I wanted to let you know that we saw the skinny whip rehab vet again last weekend, and Meg has now lost ALL the weight she put on following Pie's death (still can't believe I'm typing that), and is back to her ideal 33 pounds, so I am thrilled, and also relieved, I hate to think we are putting ANY additional strain on that dodgy front leg. It was a combination, I think, of being very strict with her food, and careful with treats, and also spending a lot of time down by the river, where she is super nonstop active, but in a way that is not too impactful on her joints.

She was rewarded with a Trip to Scotland

Thanks everyone for all your encouragement and support.

Clare,

That's wonderful news, congratulations. I know that's a huge accomplishment. I am a total foodie myself so I know the effort involved. Great job ❣️❤️❣️

We all told you the weather would melt that right off. clapI knew you would get it right back off. As active as Meg is I am not all surprised & with you watching her calories! YAAAAAY PHEW! Megastar the waterdog!

Meg, will you please talk to Purrkins maybe I can get him in the water HEHE🙀 Dr. Matt did switch both of their food and will see how this goes!🤞🏻⚖️

Will Meg still get some wheels? I would love to see her new wheels she can get a side cart and take Purrkins with her;)

Seriously I am interested to see how the wheels go and I would like to think if the day comes we need something they will be available for cats one day. I have only seen rear leg wheels for cats. I worry now Purrkins with wheels OMC would be a significant problem. HEHE
When he gets older and slows down then maybe?

We will live thru the Megastars adventures. So glad you had a much needed glorious time away!

Lots of love to you both & always Spirit kisses to Miss Pie in the sky!

Any barn owl sightings lately?

Darling Meg!

Excellent job on getting down to your ideal weight! You just needed to get out and swim and dig for balls! We knew you would be ready for the runway, just in time for a springtime holiday!!! I read about your adventures yesterday, but didn’t have time to remark... you made me giggle, the two of you! laughing Does the Skinny Whip Rehab vet know that they are called this!?! Hehe!laughing And wheels Meg! Tell Mum to put a motor on them and you’ll be off to the races in not time at all! 😉

Clare ,

thanks for the wonderful update on your holidays, but most importantly, thanks for updating on our beautiful non-stop Meg-a-Star!!

Im sorry that you have to write about Elsie Pie In the Sky in such a way, but every time you do, she is here with us all!

“Whisper their name and they will ALWAYS remain!”

Much love and massive hugs coming to you both across the miles!

Thanks Lovely Jackie, Holly and Petra ❤️❤️❤️

Holly, yes, Meg is getting some wheels. I'll maybe start another thread once they arrive, so I can share her progress. The SWRH helped me measure her, but then Eddie's Wheels came back and queried a couple of the numbers (you send them a picture with a ruler visible), so I did it again, and I got a third set of measurements... I was worried because, although it's adjustable in height and length, the width is fixed and welded, and Meg is SO active, she's not just going to be trogging along, she's going to give that cart a proper workout and it needs to fit perfectly. The problem is depending on how she's standing, higher or lower on the front leg, back legs closer together or wider apart, the measurements are different. It's like trying to measure a slinky. Anyway, there's one vet in the whole of the UK (at least as far as I know) who has had training firsthand from Eddies Wheels, and she has agreed to measure Meg herself, and also to make final adjustments to the cart, with Meg in it, once it arrives. So I am REALLY pleased about that. It's a costly business, what with shipping to the UK on top of the cost of the cart, and then 20% sales tax added at Customs, so we need to get it right first time.

I will investigate the possibility of a sidecar for Mr Purrkins. Heaven only knows what the two of them would get up to.... I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie's Wheels would make front wheels for cats if it came to it. They seem very innovative and ready for the challenge.

Petra, a motor is a fine idea. It makes me think of Wallace and Gromit with the mechanical trousers. If she gets a motor, then I am DEFINITELY getting a remote control!

No, the SWRH does NOT know that we call her the SWRH and let's hope it stays that way... oh-mymad

Thanks, Petra. I love this. And they will heart

I just now got caught up on this.  Glad Meg is getting wheels and you are getting them fitted for her.  🙂   Once she gets them you better get your running shoes on you may not keep up with her LOL.  (I hope not, and I hate running so no running shoes form me LOL).  Keep us informed of how she does with the cart.

I am always so amazed at how much she loves the water.  My girls no way we even put a baby pool out for them and nope now Bosch loves it.
