We are so sad to report that we let our big boy Zeke go last night.  The tears haven't stopped falling, but we had to make the hardest decision we'll ever have to make and say goodbye.  It is the ultimate responsibility of a pet owner to do this and we knew that Zeke was such a brave, strong boy that he wouldn't do it himself, he would have fought until the end.  He was starting to suffer, not eating, not getting up and he was telling us it was time, we couldn't see him go through this anymore.  He went very peacefully in the comfort of his own home with my husband and I right by his side.

Thank you all for your support through this journey, we only wish the journey would have lasted longer, it's so unfair that he is gone so soon, we really thought we'd have him longer.  We are in shock right now, but know that we made the best decision for Zeke.  He is now pain-free forever, happy and comfortable, playing with all of his friends we have lost along the way.  We knew it would hurt, but never imagined it would be this hard.

We will miss you forever Big Zeke and we love you!!!

Dhiannon (Zeke's Mom) & Zeke, a 7 year old male Bullmastiff, front left leg amputated on 7-12-2010 due to a joint tumor.  Zeke earned his wings on 8-13-2010, we will miss our big boy forever!  We love you Zeke!!

I'm so sorry Zeke has passed. I have of thought of him many times over the past week and was so much hoping he would be ok. It is good to hear that he had a peaceful ending with the ones he loved most there with him. That is very special and shows the depth of the love you and your husband felt for your boy, Zeke. My heart aches for you both.

RIP Zeke

My thoughts and prayers,

I am so sorry about Zeke!  You are right it is so hard to let them go. Even though Mastiffs don't live as long as other breeds I just couldn't resist getting another one since they are always such big sweet goofs.  It took us many months to start to feel normal again after we lost Tazzie. I know you will miss him.

Oh, bless your sweet Zeke. You loved him enough to do what was best for him. Hopefully you will be able to see through the tears and remember the good times you had with your special boy. He was definitely loved.

I am just so very sorry.  It so difficult to lose a furbaby and then to lose them so soon after amputation.  It just wasn't fair.  You did a wonderful thing by Zeke.

He is such a beautiful boy and even though his time was so short with us, his spirit as a tripawd will live here forever.

My deepest condolences.

As the others have said, I am very sad that Zeke has ended his journey.  We never know when we begin how long it will be, and certainly for Zeke, it wasn't long enough.  Each and every tripawd touches my heart and Zeke is no exception.  I will forever have a place in my heart for that large boy with the soft, beautiful face.  May the wonderful memories soon replace the pain you feel.

RIP sweet Zeke.  Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

we are so very sorry to hear of zeke's passing.  you did all that you could for him, and ultimately, you did what he needed to set him free.  this is terribly hard, and the sadness seems so deep, we know.  remember, love never ends.  blessings to you during this sad time.

My sincere condolences on your loss of Zeke. He was such a beautiful boy. I know the silence and emptiness left with his passing must be indescribably painful. I am so sorry.

I am so so sorry to hear about Zeke.  Such a beautiful boy.  This is so devastating and my heart is breaking with you.  Please take comfort in knowing that he is still with you and will be forever in your heart.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

My deepest condolences,

Kami (Mackenzie & Kobe's Mom)

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!

Zeke, you will be deeply missed, we are so sorry that your journey is over. Please take good care of our Spirit Tripawd pals. We'lll see you someday again my friend.

D, you did right by him, and as hard as it was, it was a decision made with love and compassion for your boy. Our hearts go out to you. Be good to yourself, and know that Zeke is always by your side.

Please know that although you are sad, you have made many other people smile by sharing Zeke with us.  I hope maybe you will post more pictures if you ever feel up for it, because he has SUCH a cute face!  It was a face that had no pain, because you loved him enough to take away his leg and ultimately to let him go.  Thinking about you guys...
