We just got the heartbreaking news that TJ, spokesdog for Greyhounds Rock Fredericksburg, VA, earned his wings yesterday after an osteosarcoma battle that lasted over three years.

He was such a gentle soul, it was a real privilege to have met him last year when we spoke at the Greyhounds Rock conference. TJ touched so many during his life. To read more about the work he did, see this Tripawds News Blog Story.

This sweet boy will be missed by many, many people and dogs alike. Our deepest condolences go out to his humans, Kim and Andy Fraser.

Love and Hugs to the family.  TJ was an impressive guy.  We miss him terribly.

~ Katy & Jackson

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

I am just heartbroken and speechless.  Kim and family I am so so deeply sorry for your loss.  TJ will always be a hero and one of our biggest inspirations.  I hope in time the pain will turn into happy memories of what a wonderful pup TJ was and how many wonderful things he did during his beautiful life.  This will always be one of my favorite pictures of Jill, smooching her TJ doll.

All my love,

Erica

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. I was so sad when I saw this on Facebook. TJ was and always will be such an outstanding representative for tripawds everywhere. My heart goes out to Kim and Andy. He is joining a great crowd up there.

Luanne and Spirit Shooter

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Indeed, TJ is going to have some excellent company.

I'm so sorry his work here is done, but boy did he win in a huge way! What a life TJ had. First a successful racing career, then a therapy dog loving up to adults and kids alike. TJ's life certainly had meaning. Thank you, Kim and Andy, for sharing him with us.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

TJ lived large, he led a memorable and inspirational life. But that does in any way lessens the weight of the grief. One day the wonderful memories will bring smiles, but for now the Tripawd nation mourns with Kim and Andy.
TJ's was one of the first ribbons on the Tripawd Tribute Leash, now a white ribbon and little angel will be added.

TJ is flying over those meadows up there, fast and swift like greyhounds should run!!  I was sad to see this as well.. but he survived for three years!!! Three great years as a handsome Tripawd!!!! What a kickass cancer story that is!!!!

My heart goes out to TJ's family, we all know the ache and lost feeling that we have when our furbabies run down the road ahead of us...

Run Fast TJ...   you earned it!!
Christine..... with Franklin in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Alife that touches lives AND continues to do so? Now that's a life well lived! A true life of purpose!

I can guarantee you, anyone who ever met TJ was touched deeply and in an epowering way.

He knew what he was doing when he "picked" you to be his partners on this journey. Being the Zen Master that he is, he has a lot of lessons to teach us all and you were the perfect "soul mate" for him to help him accomplish that!

Thank you for allowing us to share TJ's magnificent joirney! A true beacon of hope! That bright light of his will never be diminished and he will NEVER be forgotten!

Surrounding you with TJ's grace and love,

Sally and Happy Hannah

(Hapy Hannah and I live in Powhatan...west of Richmond...wish I'd been at that Greyhound Conference and met your hero!)

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
