Just wanted to let everyone know our precious Shiva the Red Dog passed peacefully on Saturday at age 13, more than 3 years after her osteosarcoma diagnosis and amputation.  This site, as well as the wonderful people here, provided us with a beacon of hope in a frightening post-cancer world.  We're especially indebted to Rene and Dr. Pam for their kindness and expertise, as well as Tazzie from Canada's wonderful mom.  We are richer for this experience.

Please read her tribute:  http://myreddog.....f-era.html

Oh Happy Day!

It is the end of an era indeed. Please accept our most sincere condolences. And thank you for letting us know.

Many members may not know Shiva's story, but her pack has been long time followers of Jerry's on YouTube and supporters of the Tripawds community. We wrote about Shiva’s Anti-Cancer Diet and Supplements in the Nutrition blog last year, and are very saddened to hear that her time has come. She was blessed to have you, and we will always remember her fondly.

Brian and Debra, we are so very sorry. We just gasped when we read your post. It's so hard to picture a world without your beautiful girl.

Shiva's Tripawd journey was so incredibly inspirational, and the love that you shared could be felt across cyberspace every time you wrote about your latest adventures. She truly embodied the phrase "live life to the fullest" and her spirit will live on in all of our hearts. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

We send all our love and condolences to you. The Tripawds Nation mourns for the loss of a true legend.

{{{hugs}}}}

Even getting 13 years with her and 3 years post Dx, I know there's never "enough" time with our precious pups.

She'll always be with you in your hearts.
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

I am so very sorry your time with Shiva is over, but she lived thirteen WONDERFUL years, and you gave her three bonus years after her cancer diagnosis.  She was, and will continue to be, an inspiration and a hope to folks facing what they believe is a death sentence.  Shiva was able to conquer cancer, and she will be forever remembered here because she did so.

I hope that her memory brings you smiles to ease the heartbreak of losing her.
