These last few weeks have been filled with more heartbreaking goodbyes than I can recall in recent history. Can anyone make sense of why things can go so well for a long time, and then suddenly, heaven calls too many dogs at the same time? I sure can't.

Our hearts to out to all of the families who gave their Tripawds a beautiful home and a sensitive, loving farewell when their time came. Please know that every Tripawd who joins us here leaves a pawprint on this community. Even if the pup was only here for a short time, their story is just as impawtant and heroic as anyone else who's been here a while. Saying goodbye, is never, ever easy.

I just want to thank everyone who has the strength to stand strong with our pawrents in mourning, and offer their sincere friendship and support. It's not an easy thing to do, especially if you're coping with your own dog's cancer.

And for those folks who find it too painful to be here, we want you to know we understand that too. A Tripawd's loss when you're dealing with your own grief is extremely hard to cope with, we know.

Just sending out a big group hug to everyone in this community. Let's all light a candle in our hearts for our new Tripawd angels and their pawrents who are hurting so much right now.

Rene, I was thinking the same thing -- it's been a really hard week here for folks. My heart goes out to the families who are dealing with their losses and to the ones facing the same pain... And I wanted to add a hug of my own on top of your's, because I don't know where I would be without the support and friendship that I get from the people of Tripawds. I'm so glad to have found you all, even if somedays it's painful to be a part of this family.

To those of you who have recently lost your friend, we made a banner to carry with us tomorrow with as many names as we could find. Hopefully, knowing that we are here with you and we remember too, will make your hearts hurt just a teeny bit less.

I too was thinking when I turned my computer on that I hope there is no more goodbyes today.   Very sweet and true Jerry and admin.  I love your banner idea Rio's mom.

It's very sad to lose so many so quickly. We're thinking of all of the Tripawd heroes today.

Mickie, you guys have fun today...we're so proud of Rio's accomplishments!

I was thinking the same, that it's been a very rough week, after we seemed to have a good stretch there. So hard to see all these pups gaining their wings.

Micki, I love the banner idea. Very sweet. Wish we could be there. Can't wait to see pics!

Hugs to everybody and extra sweet kisses from Abby!

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

well said, rene.  it's a privilege to be part of a tripawd's journey, an opportunity to truly see the best that's within the spirit they possess.  we're very strong believers in the concept of 'if you drink from the well, make sure you also fill the bucket for others'.  although we are still very blessed with health and good fortune, we hope to continue being a part of this community for a long time to come.  let's keep that bucket filled!

love never ends.

Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included).  She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

It's so hard, yes........but we're a family.  A large one but a family.  While today is a great day for Shelby, I realize that each day is a blessing and it could change at the drop of a hat.

My promise to you who have recently had to help your tripawds earn their angel wings is this:  Shelby and I will continue to fight for a cure.  We'll carry the banner for you.....we'll pass the torch.  You will never be forgotten.

With love and compassion and such gratitude to all of you..................

Awww. Such nice sentiments Rene.

And like Charon said, I drank out of the well a lot…so I've got a lot of filling up to do.  Plus my bucket has a lot of holes in it so I may never be able to leave!!smile

Jerry. I only have to think back a little bit to remember all of the support and care that came our way when we were fighting Coops battle with him, and then all the compassion  when he left us. I sure try to be there to show my love and support for all the friends I have made during my time here, I hope I have been there for each of them when they needed it as much as they have been for me when I did... thank you for this place that makes such a difference and offers such hope and help and support during a truly trying and frightening time!

I wasn't able to check in this past week to see what was going on in the tripawds family so didn't know what a heartbreaking week it was for so many people. I echo everyone else's comments about helping each other through the dark times and celebrating their anniversaries.

Hope lived only five weeks after her amputation, but because of the support, love and prayers from the tripawds family, we got through those weeks and the sad days and weeks following her death and continue to feel that we are a part of this community and always will.  I cried as I read all of your posts, as I can feel your pain in your words; I share your own sadness along with my own.

For me, it becomes more difficult every day instead of easier.  It helps me in the healing process to talk with groups about tripawds, which I was able to do three times this week.  Right now, it's easier for me to spread the word about all of you and the compassion and knowledge you can offer to the owners of tripod furry friends than to reach out to those in pain.

My sincere heartfelt appreciation to all of you who have not forgotten Hope and the others who passed before her...walking in memory of those who are no longer with us and making a banner with their names touches my heart and soul.  I can never thank you enough...it brings tears to my eyes but they are tears of love..

The compassion of you all and this community speaks volumes about what great people we have coming here. Thank you so much for all you do.

What a sweet idea Micki!

Thank you so very, very much for putting my fur angels on the banner...Comet and even Rugby!
