Hi Jo Ann,

I am so sorry too.  It doesn't matter a bit that she wasn't the one you were on this site for, she is still family and of course her loss is just as painful.  I have 3 beautiful dogs and love them all.  I concentrate on one of them here but I love them all so much.  I am truly sorry for your pain, am I truly so sorry for your loss.  Ruby is free from pain now, kidney disease is really painful, so that is one thing to hold on to.  We are with you in grief.  Rest in peace Ruby,

Elizabeth and Sammy

Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in the right front leg 8/23/10,

leg fractured 8/27/10,

leg amputated 8/30/10

I couldn't begin to say how special Sammy is to us.  Living and laughing with and loving this wonderful boy is priceless.

Jo Ann

I am so sorry about the passing of your precious Ruby.  We all feel this loss with you and our hearts are broken with yours.

You gave Ruby a loving home and she gave you the gift of her love. You have both been blessed to have shared your lives together. While Ruby is no longer in your sight, she is forever in your heart where nothing can take her from you.

I love the picture posted of your sweet Ruby; it so reflects her sweet nature...what a sweetheart.

You are in our prayers...

Hugs and tears,

Angel Honeygurl's Pack

Dear Jo Ann,

I'm so sorry to read this.  You are in our thoughts and prayers - your post brought tears to my eyes.  Ruby was a very special dog, and Tasha understands what you're going through.  Our pups know when we are down and bring us comfort.  We are sending big hugs, and peaceful thoughts to you across the miles.

Hugs,
Holly, Zuzu and Susan

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Jo Ann,

I'm so sorry for your loss. Ruby was a very special girl and way more than just a dog. She was your baby girl and you shared your life with her for 11 years. I know your hurting deeply and feeling lost right now but please know that we care and are here for you.

RIP sweet Ruby

how could you even think that Ruby was not part of our family...remember when I lost OJ my KITTY to kidney failure after three years of chemo and six months of fluids on a daily basis, everyone here was so comforting.  Anything that affects you affects us and I am sending the biggest hug I can get in this email....Just because she had that extra leg, she was still part of Tripawds!! I am so so sorry....

Jo Ann - I am so sorry for your loss. Ruby looked to be such a sweet little thing...what a beautiful little face. My heart breaks for you. You came to exactly the right place to get support in dealing with the grief of losing a loved member of your family.

And, I echo all of those above - we are family - and we don't discriminate based on number of legs, or even species !!  I believe Comet and I - and probably Krispikritter (Diane) - had a posting about this very thing some long time back. What makes us a strong family is that we are a group of people who love our furry companions wholeheartedly and unapologetically - 3 legs, 4 legs - cats, dogs, short, tall - we love them all.  We celebrate them, we laugh at them and with them, and we grieve them when they leave us. And we support each other in the long haul because we all understand how much they mean to us.  Heck - we even support PEOPLE on this site !! 🙂

So - God speed little one. Run pain-free at the Rainbow Bridge with your Tripawd and quad-pawd friends. Go Dog. And watch over your mom and your sister once in awhile.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Jo Ann,

I'm sorry you had to say goodbye to your precious little Ruby. Maggie was in the beginnings of kidney failure so I know how much effort it takes to keep a pup going with that disease. But all that extra effort just makes the bond that much stronger.

When I let Maggie goes seven months ago I was so thankful to have Tani at home to take care of. You have been there every step of the way for Tasha, she will help you through this now.

My deepest condolences to you and Tasha on the loss of Ruby.  I know how hard it is too - hang in there.

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
