Our beloved Sindur has gone on to her next journey… Heaven.  Although I am devestated by the loss of Sindur, I know she is up there running around with her sister Baloo, chasing squirrells again.  She is happy and no longer in pain.

Born Dec 2, 2001, Sindur was diagnosed with osteocarcoma in her front leg on Jan. 19th 2009.  She had her amputation on March 30th 2009 and she died on July 13th 2009.

Sindur, a 110 lb. German Shepherd/St. Bernard made your heart dance and put a smile on your face every time you saw her.  She was very affectionate and loved to have big ole bear hugs.  She was forever a “puppy”.

I had never heard of osteocarcoma.  I thought I'd have her in my life more than 7 1/2 years.  Sindur fought the cancer, she was doing well, her fur even grew back enough to start shedding with the rest.  In the end, she lost the fight to Anaplasma, a tick borne Ricketsia.  Again, something that I'd never heard of (I've heard of Lyme disease, but it so rare in our area). She quietly passed away in my arms.

Her sisters Genesis (dog) and Tao (cat) had become very melancholy, so we decided the best way to honor Sindur is to get a new little sister for Genesis and Tao.  We brought home Skadi, a full St. Bernard.  She is 9 weeks old, a bundle of joy and mischief.  At first I felt that I was betraying Sindur, but I know that she is happy for us.  I would have loved to see her playing with Skadi and teach her “the ropes”, but that was not meant to be.  Genesis, who taught Sindur, is filling that role again.

Sindur, I will always love and miss you.  I miss seeing you at the window when I come home, calling out to me in a way that even others recognized as “mama”.  I will remember the good times, the hugs and the kisses.  You blessed our family, you gave us such joy, sunshine on a rainy day.  I will see you again someday my sweet baby girl, love Mama.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  It sounds like Sindur was putting up a good fight against the OSC.  She will always be with you in your memories.

Hugs,

I am so sorry that you lost your Mama's girl, Sindur. It sounds like she was a special dog to you and your family. I believe getting a new dog can be healing and remind us to live each day to the fullest.  Sindur is honored and remembered with love as you tell us her story and you bring your new puppy in to your home.

Love and care to you all, Gineej & Paris

Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!

Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!

I'm so sorry for your loss.  There are no words to make the hole in your life get smaller; may the new puppy bring you joy and reminders of the good times with Sindur, who, no doubt, is watching with approval.

Peace with good memories

I too, am sorry for your loss.  It sounds like Sindur had a wonderful, loving home where she was well cared for.  We fight so hard for these babies, it seems so unfair that another uncommon illiness should take them.  May your many happy memories help you through this most difficult time.

Run free at Rainbow Bridge, Sindur.

We sincerely feel for your loss, but also know that Sindure is now free of pain and playing at the Rainbow Bridge with Jerry and all the tripawd hereoes who have passed. Please know that by sharing Sindur's story here, you are certain to help others facing the same difficult decisions with their own pups. Thank you.

We are all very sorry to hear of you loss. Clearly you gave Sindur a fabulous life filled with all the love possible. The two of you fought very bravely which is a testimate to the great love. I have a page within my web site dedicated to those of us who share such love. In addition to the Rainbow Bride, I have a "Sunday strip" from For Better or Worse which helps me to remember that that we will never really be without them, for the gifts that they have given us will live with us forever. Please visit this page at http://home.com.....sthere.htm

May you find the strength to make it through this period of time and be allowed to remember the wonderful times you two shared without the crushing feeling of the loss.

I, too, am very sorry to hear about your loss.  It sounds like Sindur was very loved and gave so much love.  Enjoy your puppy.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  I share your sorrow and understand what you are going through.  Shadow was diagnosed w/osteosarcoma on Jan 13 2009, and he passed away unexpectedly on July 12th.  Everytime we lose another Tripawd or furry friend, it affects the whole community.  Sounds like Sindur had a great life here on earth, and was loved deeply and reciprocated the love back.   My thoughts and prayers to you and your family during this difficult time.
