Hello everyone. Well I took Ronnie back to see the vet and they agreed to open this lump. It turned out to be a return of cancer. There was a 1% chance that could happen and it was lousy luck that it happend to my beloved and beautiful Ronnie. I am so heartbroke I cant stand it. I just wanted to update you all.
Thanks for everything. I will continure to monitor the web site once I get over my loss.........
Laurie
Ronnie Smith, born July 13 2000. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma 4/2010. Right front leg amputation 4/2010. Cancer returned after 4 rounds of chemo July 2010. Reunited with her amputated leg 7/21/2010. God bless my baby girl.
I'm so sorry Laurie...gawd, what a blow to happen so quickly after amputation. And only a 1% that that could happen...
Hugs to you....

Oh Laurie! I'm so sorry! The lump didn't sound serious when you wrote about it last week. You must just be devastated since you had high hopes of it being a hematoma. Oh, I'm so sorry.
I send you my deepest condolences. I lost my boy Rugby exactly 1 year ago today from that dreadful cancer and your loss just floods me with memories of how incredibly awful the loss is.
Please know we all mourn with you and are here to help your through the emptiness.

Kami
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
This is such sad news Laurie. Ronnie did so greyt during her recovery, we are stunned.
Losing her is heartbreaking, but always remember that her story will give hope to so many. Her recovery was just beautiful.
Please know the Tripawds community is thinking of you both and sending lots of hugs your way, we are very, very sorry. When you want to talk, we'll be here.

Thank you all so very much. YOu cant know how your words have touched me. This is the greatest place to come to when help is needed. I know Ronnie is now reunited with her leg and running in God's land with our precious Randi.
What had happened was that the new tumor was growing under her scapula and pushing that bone up and that was causing her a great deal of pain. The vet said that we could do radiation but he also agreed to let her go and that the radiation does not help much.
I have some left over meds and I would be more than happy to give to anyone who has a difficulty time paying for all this. I have tramadol, Rimadyl, Fortiflora (probiiotic which helps with diarrhea) and the Artemisini which is an all natural cancer fighter suppliment which was highly recommended by Ohio State. I just think Ronnie's cancer was so advanced that this couldnt help her. If you would like for me to mail these to you I would be more than happy to send to anyone who is having a tough time paying for all of this. I do know how expensive it can all be. Contact me at lauriesmith63@yahoo.com and please put pet meds in the subject line.
Again, thank you to everyone in the wonderful tripaws community for helping me with my Ronnie and helping me mentally to get through all of this. I just cant thank you enough. Hugs and kisses to all you tripawds, keep it going!
I will check back from time to time to see how everyone is diong............

Oh that's so tragic. I had a tumor in my scapula too, I know how painful that location is.
Laure, I've put your meds in our Angel Exchange with the hopes that someone who needs them will find them easier. Bless you for being so kind to offer them to another pawrent.
It's our pleasure to be here for you. And always remember, you have helped others by sharing Ronnie's brave journey.
