RIP Ruby 2005-2013, left us at 7yo, tri-paw'd just didn't work :( Thanks everyone for all your support the last few weeks. We don't know what happened honestly, and we may never, her Xrays were clear, but her body just gave out 3.5 weeks after the amputation. We are just so sad to lose our sweet Staffie, Ruby was the best first pet a family with kids could ever have :( .

Oh gosh.  I am so so sorry to hear about this.  I know you loved your Ruby more than anything and fought for her.  Please know we are here for you, if you just need to vent or whatever you need.  I am sending you lots of healing thoughts and hugs.

I'm sorry to hear of your sweet Ruby earning her wings.  Lupe only made it a week post surgery and had similar symptons.  Her x-rays were clear but in the end, the tumor she had ended up being very aggressive and had invaded her bone marrow and lymphatic system.  Sometimes there are things lurking that are just not detected.

You are the thoughts and prayers of many.

Best,

Kori & Angel Lupe

Diagnosed with possible synovial cell sarcoma of right front elbow 5/31/12. Amputation surgery performed 6/7/12. Final diagnosis of histiocytic cell sarcoma 6/11/12. Her soul and spirit were strong, her body was not...my little girl earned her wings 6/14/12. Janna we are stunned! And so very sorry, what a terrible shock. If only love could have saved her from whatever it is that caused her body to give out. We wish she could have been with us much, much longer.

We send our sincere condolences to you and your family.

OMG, I am SO, SO sorry. I wish there were words that would make you feel better but I know right now there just aren't.

Sending healing thoughts & long-distance hugs.

If this is incredibly inappropriate to ask right now I sincerely apologize, but I am so shocked at what happened... Are you doing a necropsy? She just turned so suddenly. Just ignore this if it's too painful to discuss, I'm just trying to get my brain wrapped around something that makes my heart hurt.

Again, deepest condolences.

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to read this.  My heart breaks for you.  Find comfort in knowing you did everything you could for your baby.  RIP Ruby.

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

I'm trying to type through the tears and the ache in my her. Clearly, we too are shocked and confused. I saw Angel Lupe's response and I just want to say how sorry I am foryour loss.

To say there are no words is true. There just aren't any to express the sadness around everything regarding your ttrajedyYOU DID EVERYTHING POSSIBLE FOR YOUR GIRL!!! EVERYTHING. There was NO reason to not proceed forward as you did. Sometimes science and statistics are just hogwash----and sometimes not. You had every reason in the world to believe things would turn out well. You did what everyone else here would have done given the original diagnosis. Had this happened without the surgery (which it seems as though the course was set no matter what you did), you would have regretted that. Either way this whole scenario sucks.

Ruby certainly was inundated with attention and love these last several weeks and she will carry that with as her journey continues in another dimension of spirit energy.Ruby's presence on earth touched a lot of hearts. We are all a family joined by every emotion this roller coaster ride takes us on. We are privileged to know her and our hearts are able to expand even more because of the love for a dog named Ruby.-,h

And a dog like that will be with you forever. Thank you Ruby and family for allowing us to be part of your journey. Ruby will let you know she is okay. Look for her

Was trying to say look for messages, she will be connecting with you....and then the computer cutoff. Does Ruby have a sense of humor like that...would she do something like that in her playful state?
We are all with you and by your side just as you were for Ruby and just as she will always be for you

Love and light surrounding you, Sally and Happy Hannah

Oh no, I am so sad to hear this about Ruby.  Please know, that I am truly so sorry to hear that she has passed.  My thoughts are with you and your family through this hard time.

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

I'm so sorry to hear this!  Here we are, trying to do our best and alleviate all pain and then something like this happens.  So sudden.  So sad.  You did your best.  Sending you loads of (((HUGS)))

~ Katy

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Thanks guys for all the pet-owner love. She seemed like she was in the same boat as most tri-paweds, until she suddenly took a dive Fri night, and we couldn't save her, she couldn't hold down anything, we were at the vet 2x Sat, 2x Sun. It's such a sad day in our household. She was suffering so badly by 4am my husband had to take her in on emergency, everything had shut down, she just couldn't cross over on her own. I'd love to know the answers too, and I don't mind the asking. I spoke w/our regular vet (who's the senior vet and has been one for 50 years, he's amazing and seen everything!) AND the oncology vet, both of whom called today, and they are all mystified as to what happened. There just wasn't anything clear, we had clean blood work, clean xrays all done yesterday. We rescued her from a rough life at 3yo, and the vet said she was one of the sweetest most special dogs he'd ever cared for, she kept getting rescued (3 times!) before she came to us based on her personality, she was SO friendly, and SO loving, and SO happy, everyone pitched in extra to rescue her each time, I managed to track the stories when we got her. The last rescue org bailed her out and did a knee surgery on her, she was languishing w/a broken knee. We ended up having to do the other knee, 6 months later. Our vet said we were fortunate to have her as long as we did, that despite her puppy-enthusiasm she had right until the surgery, her poor body had taken a real licking. We just miss our girl. So wrong to have no dog here, we will start looking to rescue a new doggie that needs a home as much as Ruby did...just has to be the right one.

I am so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Ruby way to soon.  I hate reading that one of our princess warriors has moved on.  You did everything you could for Ruby.  You packed a lifetime of love into the 4 years you had with her.  You gave her a home and a family.  For that, I am sure she was grateful.  Know that she will always be with you in your heart and in your memories.  Ruby will always be watching over you, and I know that she will guide you to a new doggie that needs to be rescued and loved as much as she was.

Sending healing thoughts and a big hug.

I am so sorry. Like everyone else I'm in shock.  I can't imagine how difficult it must be for you right now.  Cancer doesn't play fair and sometimes it does something totally unexpected.  Please know that you did everything you possibly could for Ruby.  And most importantly she knew how much she was loved and cared for.

Sending you many hugs
