Please don't cry........I have cried enough for all of us over the past two days!!  We had a wonderful one year ampuversary on Tuesday, thank you all for the wonderful messages.  Woke up Wednesday morning to a different dog . She was very weak and had trouble standing up.  Her appetite was fine, but had trouble getting around and fell going out the back step.  This worsened Wednesday & Thursday and by Thursday night she could not get up at all.   My heart was breaking.  She looked at me on Thursday....it is in the eyes....she was saying, Mommy I am tired.

I took her yesterday morning to our wonderful vet, Morris Animal Hospital, all her friends were waiting for us and they were all in tears.  They were so kind and Paris was licking them and wagging her tail, although she had to be carried in to the office.  The opinion is that the cancer had spread to the lymph system and her body was shutting down, it was time.  It was very quick and peaceful and her cancer filled body set her spirit free.  I know with all my heart that she is running in heaven on four legs, she is with my family and is going out to play with Jerry and all the other Tripawd angels that have gone before her.

We were blessed with Paris in April, 2007 when I found her at our local Humane Society.  She had been there over six months and she was just another big black dog waiting to be picked.......we picked her.  She was 2 and her owner had died.  Brought her home and realized we had found the sweetest dog....they called her sweetie at the shelter.  She was a gift to us.....I had recently lost my Dad to cancer and also our dog, Harley..........so she sort of rescued us too!

I miss her so much already, it is very quiet, the routines are all changed.  She was my companion much of the time because Paris' Daddy, Randy travels with work.  It was very tough for him not to be here yesterday.

We are so grateful for every moment she was in our lives and have no regrets about any of our decisions in her care.  We did the best we could while fighting a terrible disease.  I still believe with all my heart and soul that Paris was one of my best life lessons.........every day matters and love is forever.

I will love you forever Paris,

Ginny

Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!

Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!

I'm so sorry, Ginny. I don't know the words to help give comfort, but please know we're thinking about you and know that Paris is running around with lots of friends today. We're just starting this journey, and it's been so helpful having friends like you and Paris here to help us. We're sending hugs your way today.

Gerry says -

Oh, you mean humans call us rescue dogs because they rescued us? We call ourselves rescue dogs because we hang around at the shelters waiting for people to rescue! Sorry that Paris couldn't stay longer. I can tell big brother Yoda's going to like her a LOT.

Gerry's Mom says -

I'm so sorry you had to lose your sweetie so soon. What a great fighter she was to make it a full and hoppy year with cancer for her rescued humans!

Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.

He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

My Dearest Ginny,

Words cannot express how sorry we are to hear of the lost of Paris, and would like you accept our deepest sympathy.  You and Paris have been one of the tremendous stalwarts to this community.  Your one year ampuversary celebration touched our hearts and brought forth feelings of joy.  While I realize that it is small comfort now that you did make the one year ampuversary, it is a milestone that I am sure will live in your heart for all eternity.  Both you and Paris have been blessed with times that created the warm memories that I know you hold so dear.  Your stories have demonstrated beyond any doubt, that you will not truely be without your wonderful warrior Paris, for the gifts that were given to you will live with you forever.

Again, please accept our deepest sympathy and understand that I cannot see the screen through all the tears.  I cannot, and do not want to hold them back inspite of your request.  It has been a priveledge to know of you and Paris and the love that you shared.  You have been a most spectacluar pawrent.  Know that we are sending our love, hugs, and prayers to Northern Indiana.  Know that I and everyone of this community will be here if we can provide any support at all.

We will celebrate Paris's life, for you are a better person for that experience.  We will celebrate Paris's life, for we are better for knowing of Paris's story through you and your love.

Ginny & Randy,

Please accept our deepest condolences. You and I talked about where things were with her, but it still doesn't make it any easier to read this in print.  We thought about you all day yesterday, and wondered how things went. We are so deeply sorry.

Paris was truly an original, a beautiful, spunky girl who proved that live can be beautiful and grand, even when you are coping with serious illness. What a privilege it was to meet all three of you in person on that beautiful fall day in Colorado.

For whatever reason, Paris' "assignment" on earth was shorter than we feel is fair, and it breaks our hearts that our pups can't be with us forever. But as you clearly pointed out, even in that short period of time, there were many great lessons she taught you, ones that will be with you for a lifetime. You and Paris were simply meant to be, the universe made sure of that. Hold those lessons and her pretty memory close to your heart, and eventually, the pain of saying goodbye for now maybe lessened just a little. Until then, be good to yourself and know that she is by your side, always.

Many, many hugs going out to you. Thank you for being brave enough to share here, and being a part of our family.

Spirit Jerry, Rene, Jim, & Wyatt Ray

Paris, that was very brave of you to tell your mommy you were ready to move on!  Sometimes we are scared to leave our families behind, but not you!!!  And that was very kind of your mommy to let you go when you were ready.  You have moved on the next part of your journey, and although it doesn't make missing you any easier, you have SUPER pawrents who gave you all the love in the world.  What more could a tripawd ask for?!?!?

Ginny,

Everytime I am away from Tripawds for a while and decide to "check back in" to see what's going on I am heartbroken by another loss of one of our heroes. You were always such a great source of comfort and inspiration to us as we went through our journey- for that I thank you.

Please know you are in our thougths and prayers at such a hard time. We are thinking of you.
