Deb,
For some unexplained reason this morning, when I saw your post, I somehow felt a lingering hope that Lexie is still with you......thank you for confirming that silly notion I had...!! Although I do know the inevitable alternative is creeping up at a faster pace, rejoice in this newly spared time with sweet Lexie, because I know I am. If only for a few days, or few hours, hold her, love her, squeeze her, spoil her 100 times more.......I am sobbing right now.....

Yes, please keep us updated on your girl, and I saved some of that bottle of wine to celebrate more of Lexie, no matter what today.

Keeping you and her in my continuing thoughts, and sending a zillion {{{{hugs}}}}
Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly

Interesting insight Bonnie...you are definitely a very "connected" little.soul. And I also feel estatic that we get even more time to celebrate!!

And I rejpice with you through the tears. LEAVE IT TO LEXIE!!! That girl wil l do things her own way in spite of this crap disease and in spite of any plans laid out by humans! This is just yet another exclamation point on her GLORIOUSLY vibrant life!!!

And look how by just "scheduling" her transistion on Dog Day you raised awareness for Tripawd adoptees!!! Ohhhhh.....this Lexie...what a gal!!

.."Tell God......or Buddha......or Universe....OR LEXIE...your plans, and watch them laugh"!!!

Lexie is comfortable.and.thoroughly enjoying being with you...and this Virginia weather has been very accommodating...so ........until it feels right within everyone...soul deep right...then she's just fine hanging out!!

And clearly all the Angels needed more time to plan for the celebration for this bubbly girl's arrival!!! All the younger male dogs are probably putting on their best deodorant and slicking up their fur real pretty...just hoping they'll be the first to dance with her at the pawty!

This is one of THE most magical dogs on the planet! And the love and devotion you have for her is second to none!

Oh, one more thing....a "Universe" thing.......I always light a white candle whenever one of our furbabies makes the transision.....I set it out but forgot to do it last night......

LOVE AND LIGHT TO ALL........

I, too, have been thinking about you so much .... your final (well not so final) celebration has been on my mind ... Lexie knows what she's doing - that is for darn sure!

I hope and pray for a peaceful transition (if it comes)... I am so broken-hearted about this and I don't have the words... I wish that I did but know that you are in my heart and my thoughts!

Much love,

Alison with the Spirit of Shelby fur-ever in her heart (and little Jasper too)

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Deb,

Had to take a break going from page 1 to page 2- during that break I cried and ate salted caramel chocolate, Sally got me hooked lol.   Beautiful Lexie has given you the sign and you have chosen to celebrate, keep her comfy surrounded by your love, and let her do the things she enjoys.  You need to know that this is the HARDEST most selfless act you could do for her. My thoughts are with you and hope that it is a peaceful experience.  I know my  handsome Jake and all his new friends will be there all spruced up, strutting their stuff and playing ball like they are on muscle beach. What a PAWTY it will be! We are here for you!

Right there with you! Letting them go is SO hard, she'll let you know when it's time. Lexi is
An inspiration to everyone. She stole my heart the moment I met her. I remember when you weren't
Sure she'd make it to the Tripawd party. Then she didn't only make it, but she rocked it!
there can't be a soul who has met her or seen that video that wasn't inspired by her! Oh
What a party there will be at the bridge when it's her time! I just know my Jake will take great care of the love of his brother
Tanners life! All dogs are special, but there are certain dogs that really capture your heart and
Lexi is definitely one of those dogs.

Oh Deb,

I'm just catching up and my heart aches for your family and Lexie.  I'm just in awe of how peaceful and calm you seem through your postings.  You are a very special person to give this final gift to Lexie.

I know Lexie will be having a blast with all her Tripawd family at the Bridge.  They will all welcome her right into the pack.

I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and sending you a BIG HUG!

I can't even begin to thank all of you for your support. Somehow I channeled my 'inner Sally' when writing that post and really came to be at peace with things at that point. Well, it turns out that Lexie had other ideas. Greg has been my rock this whole time and when I was finally ready, he wasn't.

Meanwhile in the past two days while I've been mostly off work and home with her and feeding her the extra good treats (feeding Deb some good treats, too) Lexie has rallied and is eating again. She's walking again (with energy!) and her breathing has gotten better. And she visibly perked up two days in a row when Greg got home from work, so he thought our vet should weigh in.

We all went to the vet a couple hours ago and I had all the 'final goodbye' things in the trunk just in case. As usual, Lexie loved the car ride and loved her trip to the vet where she gets all kinds of attention and treats, Our vet said that even though the second tumor is still growing Lexie's lungs sounded good in spite of the mets, and she doesn't think it's her time quite yet.

So, we're sorry for the false alarm but so grateful for the extra time and grateful to our Tripawds community for all the thoughts and prayers. Lexie clearly felt them.

Hugs, slobbery kisses from Milo, and love to all...
Deb, Lexie and Family

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.

Never be sorry, no regrets (EVER) ok?!!! Its hard to find that strength so you did the right thing by leaning on us. Clearly, Ms Lexi is doing things HER way! As far as we are all concerned she has WON this battle and every extra moment is just icing on the cake. Go Lexi girl!!

Deb,
What a wonderful gift, more time......NO ONE is happier about this kind of false alarm, than all of us here, (well, except you and your family!) Once again, I was hesitant to read this continuing thread, but I couldn't be more happy right now.......I agree with Elizabeth, Miss Lexie is doing things HER way !!

Enjoy and celebrate every single second, of every single day.......go to Dairy Queen, and McDonalds, get a big bag of peanut M&Ms, and give her a big hug and kiss from me......!!

Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
