This is so beautiful. Terribly sad, of course, but so beautiful and peaceful and loving and right. Ginger was so lucky to be loved by you.

With heartfelt condolences,

We were all holding you in our hearts....And still are. This is soooooo hard. Even though you know sweet Giner welcomed the release from her failing earthly body, it's still suffocatingly sad for the humans.

Ginger is a SENIOR ROCK STAR around here!!! A fifteen yr youngster who proved to everyone age is just a number!

Ginger had a lovely send-off as she headed to the Bridge whole and healthy. She's been surrounded by your love every day and she knew you loved her enough to help her transition when she let you know she was ready.

It's beautiful the way R &R were able to be part of her Celebration of Life on that day. I think it's so important for the "siblings". IF this had to happen, you could not any done anything any better.

Stay connected and, when you can, we would love to see more pictures of the pack and here more abput the amazing "Miss Grumpy". Amd we want to hear our she makes her presence known to you...because she will!

We all fell in love eith her. She will jave an I inspirational legacy of hope for anyone on this hkurney, but especially our "elders".

With love

Thanks for letting us know, it's not easy to share this kind of update. My heart goes out to the pack, I'm so sorry.

It hurts like hell but there's no greater gift we can grant our animals when they are ready to go. Ging had a great life with people and animals she loved. What better way to move on to her next assignment than being surrounded by those she touched. Lucky ol' gal. We will miss her too.

Please keep in touch and if we can do anything at all just bark OK? We send lots of love and hugs your way from up in those pretty Colorado mountains.

It's been a whole week without our girl already. R&R are doing okay so far. Roxy's been even more dramatic, which we didn't think was possible. Ginger never really bonded with her despite Roxy's best efforts, but Roxy's been acting out just a bit while she figures out the new routines. Rico has been SUPER clingy with Dan, surprisingly, but he's doing better than expected. He struggled with eating the first few days, but he's doing better now. My cousin is here for another week, so that's definitely helped keep us active and made the transition a little easier. We went exploring on a drive and found the CUTEST BABY BEAR EVER. Mama was nearby just chilling, so we sat in the car and watched for awhile. I debated bringing him home with me, but R&R would think it's the weirdest looking dog EVER. Other than that, we just keep moving forward. We should get Ginger's ashes in about 5 weeks since they're a bit backed up at the moment, so we're figuring out what to do with them once we get them. <3

Is this the Ginger who is IG friends with cesameseed? I am Jaxon's mommy. Sooooo sorry for your loss! We sent our Darwin over the bridge in March due to abdominal tumors impeding elimination. Thank you for reaching out!

OK was that baby bear put there by Ginger to make you smile or what? I see that sweetie as a sign that Ginger says "Hey everypawdy, I'm all good in paradise!"

Thank goodness your cousin arrived just in time. What another gift. It always fascinates me to learn about how other dogs and cats in the pack handle the adjustment. They each have such different ways of responding. It sounds like Ginger's siblings are all feeling her love and getting the new order set up.

As for the ashes. We still have Jerry's in one spot with us. Haven't been able to make that decision either. I admire people who can figure out what they want to do with ashes, it's a difficult thing to decide. Here's a blog post about what our Tripawds pal TC does with her pup's ashes. You will appreciate this since I know you're well-acquainted with Alaskan mushers:

I know Alison's mom who is mom2shelby on here had part of Shelby put in a beautiful glass sphere.  I am not sure exactly where they got it from but she did post it on her blog.  Also I know you can take some and have it turned into a precious stone.  Saw it on TV somewhere.  🙂

I never did any of that.  Sassy is in her urn.

So heartbroken to read about Ginger, but what a beautiful sendoff your pack provided her. So very, very sweet and beautiful.

The hub-a-dub was so attached to our sweet Harmony, he wants her ashes to be buried with his when the time comes. So she waits patiently on the book shelf 'til the day she can once again lie at his side.

Peace to you and your pack.

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.

I am so sorry about Ginger ... it is indeed the hardest part of this journey!

I scattered some of Shelby's ashes in the Pacific Ocean in Oregon where we used to vacation... also my mom, as Michelle said, had a glass globe that is purple and made from some of Shelby's ashes ... it is also a light so when I turn it on, it glows and her spirit fills the room. I am not sure if this is the exact vendor but it looks similar to these:

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Oh I love those so much! The Northern Lights one is absolutely gorgeous! We are possibly planning on releasing some nearby, maybe in the ocean to the south or near our closest glacier. Ginger always shed a ton of hair, so we joke that some far off scientists are going to think she was her own species with her hair being everywhere from Puerto Rico to Alaska, and whatever hair stuck to our clothes when we went on trips to Bali and Mexico.
