hello everyone,
my baby girl has crossed the rainbow bridge. I had posted in October that her cancer was back and they only gave her a couple of weeks to live BUT she made it through Christmas! What a gift! She was able to stay comfortable with some meds and that got us about 2 extra months. 3 days ago we just knew it was time. She had gone downhill so much within 2 days and we just knew she was suffering. We called our vets, the ones who had been through all the cancer and amputation journey with us and let them know we needed to come in. She spent her last hours on my fathers lap, her favorite place in the world! I swear she knew. She knew her pain and discomfort was almost over. Walking out of the house with her in my arms was the hardest thing I have ever had to do, but I kept strong for her. The vet appointment was quick, she fell asleep with my father hugging her and took her last breaths surrounded with love. She was just one day away from her 1 year anniversary of becoming a tripaw when she passed.
Now I find myself avoiding going into rooms that she would lay, because not seeing her there is just too painful. The room feels empty and cold without her. I miss her so much!
I didn’t think I would wonder where her soul went as much as I do. I can’t stop thinking about if dogs go to heaven/some sort of afterlife or not. What do you guys think? Also, do you think your pup comes to visit you? I would just love to hear everyone’s beliefs about this.
Thank you all so much! ❤️
I am so sorry to hear about your babies crossing. This part of the journey is very painful and so individual no one can tell you when the hurt will stop. It takes time eventually you will smile at memories. You will miss her a lot.
I believe our furbabies wait for us at the Bridge until its our time to cross. Then they meet up with us and cross over. I believe they can send signs that they are still with us.
I am sorry for your loss

"You aren't doing it TO her, you are doing it FOR her. Give her a chance at life."
As we say here, when you love jard, you grieve jard. And goodness knows you love sweet Snookie with all your heart and Soul, as she did you.
We are all so very, very sorry ro hear Snookie had to leave her earth clothes that were no longer serving her. Our hearts break with yours. Not for her though, she is free and running happily chasing her ball. We grieve for us.
Yes, she let you know it was time and she was at peace with that. She knew you loved her enough to set her free. You surrounded her with love every moment of every day. And when it came time for her transition, she was surrounded by your love and took that love with her💖
Everyone here will tell you their pups ot cats DO make their presence known...they DO send you signs! Aome fo ot quickly, some take their time. Sometimes the grief is so strong at first that you aren't see6 the obvious signs they are sending you.
A couple of examples. Many people find pennies, pennies that weren't in a certain spot before, and then showed up later. Some people get "glimpses" of their pups, or they "hear" them barking. Look for rainbows, look for a bright twinkling star that catches your attention. One lf rhe Angel's here named Shelby left her Mom signs through license plates and street signs.....yeah....Shelby Rd or a license plate that had Shelby on it. Pay attention to dreams!!!! Don't let any subtle message in a dream go unnoticed! Lots of dogs like to say hello when we are in a dream state! We PROMISE you, Snookie will send you a sign!
Have you heard of The Rainbow Bridge? Google it if not. You'll find the some answers there you are seeking.
I ABSOLUTELY 100% believe dogs have SOULS!! They/we are an energy that uses our bodies as vehicles while we are here on earth. That energy, our Souls, never dies. It changes form, just like in nature. A tree never "dies", it is transformed into mulch and nutrients for the soil. And the soil gives birth to new life, new trees. So when Snookie gladly jumped out of her earth clothes she returned to her Soul state.
I can't wait to hear how Snookie connects with you! So you stay connected to us and share some of the glorious times uou and Snookie had, okay? We are hear for you
That ,little Snookie will inspire all newbies on this journey. She beat the odds and lived life to the fullest! She'll never be forgotten here!
Hugs

Awe I'm so so sorry for your loss! Yes I too believe all dogs go to heaven to wait for us at the rainbow bridge when our time comes. I fully expect to be knocked over upon arrival when I get to those Golden Gates. I also believe their spirits are with us always. As Sally says we can find them in many places we just have to be open to it. My personal favorite is when they visit me in Cardinal form. Whenever I see a Cardinal I know someone's paying me a visit. Giving them that last gift of release when we know it's time is so hard and it breaks our hearts to do so. But it truly is our last unselfish act of love for them. Sending you healing and light at this hardest time.

I'm so sorry about Snookie, my condolences to you and all of your family. It's not an easy thing to experience and it does take a while for our brains and hearts to connect and find solace in knowing that ultimately we did the right thing by setting their spirit free of a broken body.
Ditto on animals and souls/spirits. I take comfort in knowing that every living creature is connected by the powerful and invisible life force that is inside each and every one of us. That life force is something that never dies, it just changes form. To paraphrase one of my favorite authors Wayne Dyer, we are not human beings (or animals if you will) having a spiritual experience on earth, we are spirits having a human experience. When that body is used up, our spirit moves on to another entity somewhere else. I fully believe that those spirits we have loved never leave our side, they just change form and send subtle reminders over time that they're never far from our side.
Listen and watch closely for little signs that Snookie's spirit is still with you. I'm going to be she will say hello at some point or another, when you are ready for it.

Not sure if you are Christian but there is a lot of evidence that animals go to heaven.
I wanted to share a great video that I watched after Bender passed away:
Hi. I am so sorry for your loss and I been having the same questions you are having while we are in the middle of this cancer ride. I don't know how you feel about the bible, but in the book is Isaiah it speaks of animals in heaven. I also found a book on Amazon "The Amazing Afterlife of Animals" and find it comforting.
My Beautiful Beloved Brownie was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma on February 26, 2019. With all odds against him he lived an additional one year and eight days with amputation, love, and prayer. I was honored to be his mom, and I have never been so proud! He will live forever in my Heart!
