After a almost a week and a half of amazing bonus days, Lexie made it clear that she was ready. In addition to talking about all the fun we've had in our 12ish years together, I showed her pictures of and told her about all her new friends who were excited to welcome her and show her all the fun that awaits over the bridge.

(Elizabeth, with apologies to Tanner, I think she's especially excited about meeting your handsome Blue Eyed Jake!)   ;-)

I'll post more later, but just wanted to say thanks again to all of you, for everything. These incredible months of 2014 wouldn't have been possible without our Tripawds family.

Love and Hugs

Deb and Angel Lexie (and Greg and Milo too)

Deb and Angel Lexie* Diagnosed at age 13. Tried radiation first; wish we had amputated upon diagnosis (even with lung mets). Joined Club Tripawd April 2014 & Lexie loved life on 3 legs! Advice: Start physical therapy as soon as your vet clears it, especially hydrotherapy if available :-) See Lexie pics here.

Oh Deb... i am so sorry to hear this!!! Lexie fought an amazing fight and I am so honored to have gotten to know her (and you) through all of this.

Sending you lots of love and hugs and healing energy in your time of sadness... I know shelby was very much looking forward to meeting Lexie (Lexie will have to wrestle Shelby for Mr. Jake - Shelby had a thing for black labs too).

Lots of love your way... my heart breaks for you but you honored Lexie every step of the way ... with such grace and dignity.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Dear Deb,

so sorry for your loss, but I see from your post how grateful you are for Lexie's life.  You and her fought a beautiful battle together, and the reward were these extra months of bonding that you will keep forever in your heart.

hugs from Daniela & Johnnie

Our awesome Golden Boy was diagnosed for OSA in April 2014 in the proximal humerus, front-leg amp on 05/20/2014. Finished chemo (Carbo6) on 07/10/2014. Ongoing treatment: acupuncture + K-9 Immunity Plus ( 3chews) and home-cooked no-grain diet.   Stopped Apocaps because of liver issues.   Liver issues: controlling altered enzymes with SAM-e and Milk Thistle.  October 17:  started having seizures.  Taking fenobarbital for seizures.  April 18: started prednisone.

Deb,

I'm so sorry to hear that Lexie has passed.  My heart and thoughts are with you and your family.

Lexie has many friends at the Bridge waiting to welcome her and I have no doubt she is having fun with them all playing and feeling young and healthy once again.

Sending you a warm HUG!

I'm doing my best to hold back the tears, because I know that Lexie wants us to celebrate her amazing life...but it's so hard! My heart goes out to all of you Deb, Greg and Milo, I'm so very sorry that this time came for your beautiful angel.

Lexie was and always will be the dog with the CAN DO attitude, the girl who didn't let anything stop her from making the most of her earthly journeys. She had a spunk and a sparkle in her eyes that said it all: Live! Pawty! Have Fun!

We will miss her tremendously but her story will always be an inspawration through the years. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life.

I too am just trying to hold back so many tears. Lexie WON this battle on so many levels Deb. This stupid disease (and I refuse to even give it the dignity of saying its name) had NOTHING on her! Her spirit and pure happiness is something we will never ever forget. She truly lived just being more dog. I will never forget watching her play, in complete bewilderment. I still smile and always will at that. She will always be an inspiration to everyone who reads her story. For all of us, and all the ones who have yet to find their way here, her story will be the light. Letting them go is so hard but I just know there is one huge party going on at the bridge right now! I know my Jake found her right away, we made sure he knew to be on the lookout last week. In celebration of Lexie, its wine and chocolate tonight!

P.S. Tanner says he understands :)

Beautiful Angel Lexie, we will never forget you!!!!

Oh my dear sweet Deb.....oh this just hurts so much. I, al o ng with everyone else cannot even begin to hold back the tears......

Yoy kn ow the inevitable is coming, you know how sooooo very grateful you are for every single second, y ou know she wants n othing more than for allmofnus to celebrate such a joyous and happy life.....and none of that lessens the painand sadness in your aching heart at all. It will help you adjust at some point, but not now...not for a long time.

You've been on the site now long enough to know, to some degree, what you'll be facing. Even so, preparing for a shattered heart is just not something we humans can handle very well.

Boy oh did that Lexie girlnlive hernlofe to the fullest or what!!!!!! She blasted that stupid cowardly piece of crap disease right out of the water!!! She annihilated it at every turn! So many things were stacked againstnher havingnsuch a victorious recr...one that would defynthe n odds in so many ways! HA! Shenjust spit in the face of statistics, diagnosis,"old age", arthritis....this Lexie planned on staying around for awhile and soak u p more loving and spoiling...and she had a few young mmale dogs she wanted tonhave a last fling with!!! Such a cougar dog!!!

And Deb, NO ONE COULDNHAVE BEEN A BETTER ADVOCATE!!! NO ONE COULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER SOUL MATE FOR HER THAN YOU...AND SHE FOR YOU! You two were destined to be together. Lexie knew how wel l loved she was and she KNEW, when she needed y our love the most, you would give hernthe fpgift of relief and celebrate her home.

I love that you showed her pictures and told stories of all her friends who would be welcoming her at the Bridge. I like to think that as they make their way towards the bridge, they are adorned with newly customed designed Angel Wings made especiallyy for each individual! And when they are offered back their legs, many simply say, "No thanks! I did just fine without it!" They'll accept their Purple Heart Jerry passes out to each one, and be offered an appetizer of Ice Cream and Chocolate before their dinner pawty begins!!! HUGE CELEBRATION! Can you even begin to imagine the stories they tell...OMD!!!

Lexie's Legacy here is so multi-faceted and willmindeed touch and inspirenlives of anyone knew to this journey. I know she...and you...have touched my heart forever. Your love and devotion for each other was second to none.

A d to think back to our June Tripawds party when you...we...were just hoping she could "hold on" long enough to make the pawty...and be well enough to enjoy it! I remember EXACTLY the first time I laid eyes on you two coming down the little nature path to our reserved shelter! Elizabethsaid, "Look, there's Deb and Lexie!" We were all sooooo o overjoyed AND co u ld not believe what we were seeing! Lexie wasnjust bouncingnon over to all os us, grettingnall the dogs....and then BOOM! She singledq Tanner out as n her new boyfriend and the courtship bagan!!! Lexie astoundednus with her energy andnyouthful good looks and playful attitude!!! If I recall, I think she was flirting with Zach too!!!

Oh Deb and Greg, we are honored beyond words to have been on this journey with you! Lexie's life mattered in ways that haven't even been revealed tonus yet! Her life mattered alright. Deb, Lexie will NEVER be forgotten here!

I LOVE these pictures of her...they all represent such joy and truly showed her light within.

WE ARE ALL HERE FOR YOU!!!! We understsnd like no others can.

YES INDEEDY, ICE CREAM CHOCOLATE, POPCORN AND WINE ARE ALL FLOWING FREELY AT THE BRIDGE TONIGHT!!!! I can hear Lexie now,"a
AND CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Mom even ordered me CANNABIS!!! GuesMilo and Breg will have to try it out in my honor!!!!!!,"""" oh zlexie, you aremone of a kind and are all better fornhaivingnyounin m our lives!

Seurroundig younwith Lexi's eternal love and light!!

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle too!

Deb,

I am so, so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Lexie. She was an amazing tripawd warrior princess, and we are all so proud to have shared her journey. Please know that you are in our thoughts, and we are sending you huge hugs.

Thinking of you,

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Deb,

I am so sorry to hear of Lexi's crossing.  She fought a hard & great fight.  Sally is so full of wisdom when something like this happens.  I know that there are plenty of babies there to meet & greet her and welcome her until you meet her again.  I love everyone's pictures of Ms Lexi.

Hugs
