Yesterday was a hard day for me.  It was the day one year ago that Leland underwent his amputation.  I was missing my boy terribly yesterday and shed some tears throughout the day.

So I was finally arriving home last night after 7pm.  Our driveway wraps around through the back part of the house to a parking area on the side of the house.  I'm thinking that hubby didn't put the garbage out so I'll need to do that before I go inside.  I see hubby's truck is there so I know at least Lucian's been gotten out of the crate.  As I'm driving around I catch a glimpse of black around my car and slow down.  Lucian is circling my car and I'm creeping along to avoid hitting him.  Hubby was coming out the back door with Lucian as I'm driving around and didn't see me.  Lucian bolts for my car and according to hubby I barely miss hitting him and he doesn't see how I avoided catching him with the corner of my bumper.  Hubby finally got to Lucian to hold him while I went and parked.  Lucian doesn't do this sort of thing when hubby comes home.  We're usually out together and he'll sit until hubby stops his truck.  Lucian is fearless which definitely scares me at times and when we're out I'm so mindful of what's going on around us that could possibly get his attention.

If I was as close to hitting Lucian as hubby says I was all I can say is that Leland was his Guardian Angel yesterday.  I have no doubt he knew the difficulty I was having yesterday and saved me from injuring Lucian.  I don't know what I would have done if I had been the cause of pain for Lucian... I've been waiting for a sign from my boy and I think I finally got a big one last night.
