I never thought it would be this hard to make a decision if it’s her time. After our trip to park a few says ago she has been in constant pain and while she’s no longing whining and grunting since upping the pain meds she is now drowsy and wobbly.
the returned cancer growth has grown in the same area of her front leg and slowly growing into her neck area and to the other side of her front leg. It’s now hard for her to walk. I was hoping she would bounce back after two days of rest after the park like she’s usually does but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
We can just see in her eyes she isn’t happy or comfortable and it’s heartbreaking; I haven’t been able to make the call to schedule it but I think I’ll have to tell my boyfriend I think it’s time. Idk what I’m going to do without her greeting me everyday after school with a toy.
Such a sad, difficult time, and a really rough decision...always coming from love. You've done so much for her, every decision you make is in her best interest--it's not always what feels best for us, though. Life without them is so hard. somehow you learn how to do it, how to go forward again instead of stalled in one place. But it's never the same. Ones we have loved so much leave a huge hole.
She'll make it clear when it's time--sounds like there's signs now.

This is never a easy decision. You are giving her the most precious gift we give our babies when we let them go. Their dignity and they will be healthy again. She will let you know the time is right. You will know.

05/04/2006 - Bosch, Sassy's pal, earned his wings 03/29/19 fought cancer for 4 months.
"You aren't doing it TO her, you are doing it FOR her. Give her a chance at life."
((((hugs))))). We get it. And we are truly sorry, our hearts go out to you. Cancer is so unfair!
This is the hardest part of being a pet parent, and one that takes a long time to heal from. As you go through the experience of setting her sweet soul free to the heavens, know that she will forever be by your side, because the bond you shared can never be broken.
It takes a while for our hearts and heads to connect, but when you do, there is almost a sense of relief that your beloved will no longer be hurting soon. Yes, it will hurt like hell when it happens, there is no getting around that. But in time, she will send you signs from the Rainbow Bridge that she is OK, and is never far from your hearts.

I found your blog post, here is your picture of Irie for everyone to see. She is just beautiful. You have been a wonderful guardian, pawrent, and friend to Irie. Hard as it is, you will know when it's time. We are all here for you.

As painful as the end is - and Jerry is right, it hurts like absolute hell - it pales in comparison to all the wondrous joy you and Irie shared.

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.
