Oh boy, this pup...my beautiful blue eyed Jake, my soul-dog. Six months ago tomorrow my sweet boy got his wings. It seems like eternity. He was my side kick for 12 years, the greatest best friend a girl could have. Jake adopted me when he was 9 weeks old. I went to the shelter for another dog...oh now how I'm grateful the first person on that dog's waiting list showed up but at the time I was pretty bummed. A volunteer said they had a puppy no one showed up for and she thought I might like him. Out bounced this black fluff ball with blue eyes. He plopped down on my feet and went belly up! I was his immediately. He rode curled up in my lap all the way home, like he was finally right where he was always meant to be....and he was, he was home. My Jake was everything to me. He was the greatest camping buddy and a tug-a-war champ. He was terrified of thunderstorms and would squeeze himself behind me to hide every single time. He loved to give kisses, free to anyone who wanted one (or 20 LOL). One of his most favorite treats was pizza crust (and he ALWAYS got a bite). He loved to sit basking in the sun, even when his fur would get so hot he'd just lay there smiling. He loved car rides, and walks in the park. Most of all he loved me, wherever I was is where he wanted to be. I feel like the luckiest mama in the world to have had him in my life for 12 years. Jake taught me a lot and one thing I learned is that its ok to be sad, but not for long. Jake hated when I was sad. He'd sit with his head on my lap, looking at me with his bright blue eyes until I couldn't help but smile. I still get sad because he's not here, but the sadness doesn't last long. I can't help but smile at the memories. I think about those blue eyes staring up at me and I just smile!

WOW... already? That doesn't seem possible ... those gorgeous blue eyes are forever etched in my mind. What a handsome, kind boy!

Jake was a great teacher... he shared his gifts with you that you have passed on to all of us. His spirit lives on in every post you make here. Through the sadness of his loss, we have adorable stories of Tanner and we have you always being a great cheerleader for us!

Thinking of you and sending you a big hug and lots of love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Such a sweet, sweet suite of memories.  Precious!  Priceless!  Jake was the best and you were his best.  I know it.

Run free, Jake.  We miss you all the time.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Jake!!!!  Dude!!!!  I hope you have not been listening to Franklin!!!!  Don't believe a word he says.. I did not put his squeaky away that day!!!  He lost it in the snow!!!

6 months that sweet boy of yours has been tearing up the meadow!!!!  Seems like it was just a month or so ago.  When we are in our "mourning mode" time seems to move sooooooo slow in our hearts... and our soul...  but then we look up and go.. wow.. 6 months already??  where the heck did the time go?

And we think to ourselves...  how could I have coped for that long without my baby boy?   But.... we do.  It is life's way of gently showing us that life does go on.  It's life's gentle nudge to say... "6 months, 9 months, a year.. or however long it is" have gone by... and YOU are still here!  YOU will begin to smile a bit more as the memories roll down your cheeks. YOU will never forget him...  and YOU will see him again one day.. hopefully in the far, far, far, far off future!  and most of all.. YOU can begin to love again..  whether it be by spending more time with your furkids that you still have, or loving a new one.... YOU are.. and will be ok!

Happy Angelversary Jake!!!  ♥

Christine... with Franklin in her heart ♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Oh Jake, your blue eyes have so much wisdom in them, what amazing gifts you gave to this world with just that look. You melt our hearts too.

I know it's a big milestone, that six month mark. We are sending lots of love to your pack, today and always. Your spirit is still very strong, and always will be. A love like yours never fades.

Oh My Dear Sweet Elizabeth.....Yes, your Jake loved you so and he KNEW how much you loved him! What a team, a very, very speical team.

I love the little nuances you shared with us....laying in the sun til his fur was was hot...his love of pizza...and, probably one of the best gift, of the many great gifts he gave you, was to be with you when you were sad, but making sure you didn't stay in that space very long! And he's still using his baby blue gaze to always move you to a bighter space....a space where you will ALWAYS feel his presence wrapping you up safely in his warmed sunlit fur.

It is such a privilege to know you and Jake...and that delightful Tanner! One of the highlights of this whole nourney was metting you, Tanner and the other beautiful souls at our Virginia Tripawds Pawty. Thank you Jake for sharing your beloved Elizabeth with us. And you sure knew how to brighten up her day with that Jake!!! None of the dogs who met him will ever be quite the same!!!! Doggy therapy may be needed for them!clown

It's an honor to have my Happy Hannah's Tribute Ribbon next to Jake's.

Sending you extra truckloads of hugs and love today.....all delivered to b you by the Domino's Pizza.Truck!
