Hello,
My baby Rufus had his front right leg removed in March from bone cancer. We were awarded the April assistance money. Rufus was doing great!
Saturday July 20th was his 10th birthday and I was so excited. I got up to get his cake (wet food) and he seemed off. Within 20 minutes I was rushing him to the vet. He was screaming in pain, drooling, and panting. He immediately was given a shot for pain.
Bloodwork and xrays showed no issues. His temperature was getting low. No cause for anything could be found. They said he was in more pain than cats they've seen that were hit by cars.
He stopped breathing in my arms. He held out until his birthday for me. I didn't have to make a decision to let him go. He gave me a reason to live and he left in my arms on his 10th birthday. He was and will always be my angel.

Rufus picked you out for a reason! It breaks our hearts when a member gets angel wings, but when it happens so suddenly it is just devastating. There's no telling why things like this happen. I wish I could make your grief a bit lighter.
Just know in your heart that the love and the live you shared with him created an eternal bond that will always be part of you both. He may not physically be here anymore but his energy and love surrounds you every single day.
My deepest condolences, I'm truly sorry. We will never furget your special boy and you will always be part of this community. If you want to share more photos and memories, we would love to see them. xoxo

It just broke my heart to read about your precious Rufus. Rusfus was thriving on three and showed everyone this is why we do what we do.
Rufus knew how much you loved him. And he knew, that you knew, how much he loved you.💖 If this horrible unoreseeable tragedy had to happen, I hope you find comfort knowing that he was surrounded by your loving arms as he transitioned to the other side of this life.💗
And yes, he waited u til his birthday. I see it as a day he selected to show you he was "reborn" free to run and play. It was a day to celebrate his life as your Earth Angel, as well and his new energy life as your Guardian Angel.
And yes, please share more about uoi earth life with Rufus, and with pictures too! I love ,the kne Jerry posted. Such a handsome fella. And let us know how Rufus has connected with you. Look for signs from him...he's sending them.
