I am sure many saw on Facebook that Harley has left us. I wasn't expecting it, I was not prepared, but are you ever prepared to lose your best friend? He did so good with the amputation and the chemo... was just running after the neighbor's dog the day before, but I guess between the Addioson's disease and the osteasercoma, his body just could not handle it and decided to shut down. Based on what happened, we think that the cancer went quickly to his brain. We wouldn't know because his last appt was two wks ago and all we did was a chest x ray which showed it had metastasized to his lungs, but onco thought he still had a good 6 months in him with chemo pills. Guess not. We decided not to do an autopsy as I am already $16,000 deep in bills from all of this... But I would do it all over again any day! He was so inspiring and was as obsessed with me as I was with him. My last Dane lived til 12 and I loved her deeply, but Harley, aka Bubba, was different, he needed me, he loved me like no other the minute we rescued him. We could have a house full of 50 people, he would search for his mommy no matter who was petting him or giving him treats. He would show off no matter where we went, Pet store, vet, anywhere and hop up on his hind to give me a hug, even if he was exhausted and still did it on 3 legs too! We would go to bed every night by 10, I would say "wanna go shcweepy Bubba?!" And he would get so excited. The past 2 nights I haven't been able to "shcweepy" with out him. I know he is over the Rainbow Bridge by now, but I just hope he isn't looking for me. He always was and I don't want him to think I left him. I plan to still be a part of Tripawds as it really provided me with true information and guidance. Also there is no info out there for Addisonian dogs with osteasercoma, so if I can be of help to anyone who comes across this, I will be delighted to do so. Thanks for everyone's kind comments on Facebook. RIP my baby Harley crying

I'm so sorry to hear Harley has passed!  Cancer is an ugly disease, and it doesn't play fair.  I don't know if this is any comfort to you, but I wouldn't worry too much about Harley looking for you at The Bridge.  There are many fine Tripawds who have scouted the area before him, and I know they have welcomed him with open hearts.  He is in good company there.  Sending healing thoughts to you.

Nooo..sometimes,es the unfairness of this whole situayiom makes you just want to scream.

Hardly knew he was loved and he is still here with you and schweeping beside you with a spirit and loving energy that will never leave you. He's watching over you and knows exactly where you are at all times. Like maximutt said, he was welcomed by all the special souls who crossed the bridge before you and, as soon as he knows you are embracing all the happy memories with a smile on you soul, he will free to play a little more. Harley will definitely come to you in ur dreams as soon as he can get through your layers of sadness.

You will feel his presence every time the wind brushes across your face, he is there. And he is there sticking that wonderful mug out the car window. catching the scents of nature. I so love that photo you have of his image in the car mirror just being in such a joyous and blissful state!

His life made a difference and IT MATTERD! Nothing can take away the light and love his presence instilled in every fiber of your being AND on every pillow he snuggled on with you.

We can't make the pain go away, we can only tell you their isn't a soul on this site who doesn't cry with you

Sweet dreams baby Harley, Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Wow, we are so very sorry. This is so hard to imagine, it happened so quickly. Harley was such a fortunate dog to have found someone like you to help bring him back to health and into a great pack. I remember you really went the distance for him, and it's clear you both shared a bond that will last a lifetime. His life was too short but at least he got to know what it feels like to be loved.

May your memories comfort you at this very sad time, we send our sincere condolences to you.

Thinking of you and Harley at this time. He doesn't have to worry about where you are as he will always be beside you until you join him over the bridge.

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

I'm am deeply sorry for your loss. I am sure that your heart aches right now and that there is a huge void left in his absence. No words I tell you will take that pain away. I know. It's been 13 wks since I had to say "until we meet again" to my boy, Bruno, and it is still very hard to accept that physically he is gone. I want him back. Back here with me. But, it can't be. And so, each day, I attempt to channel my grief and do what I can to honor his memory. For me, this keeps him very much alive and still a part of my family. Time will ease the pain. And undoubtedly,Harley and his love and Essence will forever reside in your heart and the countless lasting memories you and Harley shared during those most simple, intimate moments in life.

We are here for you during this difficult moment. Stay strong.

I am so sorry to hear that Harley has lost his fight.  Cancer can be so cruel and unpredictable.  My heart aches for you.

I hope it gives you some comfort to know that Harley was lucky enough to find you and to know love, a love that sounds really special.  That's a gift that you gave to each other and that you can carry with you always.

Many hugs

Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle.
