Hi everyone.....

I posted a photo of Carter's left leg a bit ago. The leg is curving in badly. The right is the one that is suppose to come off.  Well here's what the orthopedic vet said it is...varus limb deformity from carpus distally.  Meaning, h is growth plate did not form due to the added compensation from the weakened right leg.

The orthopedic surgeon is scheduling Carter for surgery 2nd week in Dec . He said it's going to be tricky but feels it is going to work.

Once that leg is stronger we will think about the right leg.  He is actually using his right leg more.

So for now, no amputation but I hope you don't mind me sticking around learning and asking questions as that day will come soon enough.

Many thanks...
kelly and Carter

Ohhh glad that it looks like the surgery will fix it! Poor guy, that's gotta hurt!

We are glad you updated us and hope that he makes a speedy recovery. And YES of course you can stick around! Please don't go anywhere, we want to hear how he's doing OK? And you too. Not sure what that recovery will look like but if you need to talk to anyone for support, you know where to go!

Hoping the surgery goes well for Carter in December so his leg can get stronger and so you will be able to do something about the other leg. We're glad you are here and now you have extra time to learn lots of stuff about tripawds. And yes we would love to hear how Carter is doing along the way!!smiley
