Bonnie and I have a question?  She has swelling right behind her remaining left front leg.  It is just general swelling, more like fluid accumulation.  I cannot find a specific lymph gland and know there is one there but have never encountered general swelling like this.  Could it be a muscle or is the lymph gland backing up fluid or what?  I will get her to UPenn tomorrow if it does not go down, but just wanted to be sure I was not jumping off in the deep end again.

This sounds like edema.  The lymph node is located in the back of the leg towards the bottom of the thigh muscle and should not be much larger than 1/2 inch in a Lab.  Edema could be secondary to cancer elsewhere in the body (often lungs) or can just be due to overuse of the leg.  Some medications can also cause edema.

If it is not improved by Monday then I would get it checked out!

Thanks - I will call them in the morning.  It is basically her armpit and actually jiggles when she walks.  Her lungs sound good, but we are due for the xray anyway.  She has just finished her Baytril and that is the only thing that has changed drug-wise.
