It seems like today is the day, but I have a couple questions regarding what's going on with him:

1. He's been shaking/trembling. I don't know if this might be side effects of Gabapentin?

2. He's having eye discharge that has gotten worse over the last two days. Possible side effect?

Just want to know if this might be common before bringing him in. I'm so sad right now.

I scheduled the appointment for 3:00 today. He's been so miserable, not with pain, but with his body not doing what he wants it to do. I can't put him through two more months of it (the bed rest). I am going to go, get him in the car, and go for our final car ride.

Releasing Charlie from his broken body is the ultimate gift of compassion and love. May he run free of pain at the Rainbow Bridge with his spirit living on by your side forever. Peace.

Keeping you and Charlie in our thoughts and hoping for the best, no matter what the outcome. I don't have any other words; Admin has already said it so well.

I am so sorry about Charlie but I am glad that he doesn't seem to be in pain.  Shaking does not seem to be a common side effect of gabapentin (most dogs just get sleepy).  The eye discharge is also a nonspecific sign of a dog that is not feeling well.
