I woke up this morning to one of the most beautiful days I can remember for July....I also woke up to a new round of fresh, slamming heartache. Today would have been my Polly's 10th birthday, and with the exception of the day I lost her in February, this is the next hardest day of my year this year. However, although I have already shed many tears this morning, with many more to come, I want to celebrate her life and the immense joy this special, precious, beautiful girl brought into my life. I have for the most part, come to terms with her passing, but I do and will miss her more than words can EVER describe....I'm sure many of you here know exactly what I am feeling.
I am going to celebrate her life today, with Frosty Paws for my Pearl, and lots of chocolate, ice cream, and wine for me....

P.S. I hope these pics and one video come through.....the video is the very first video my husband John took of her when she first came home with me; the second pic is my girls, Polly and Maggie in happy times together when they were still young; the third one is Polly's last birthday one year ago, she was very hairless from her 6th and final chemo, but still the most beautiful Lab girl in the world, and beating ugly "c's" butt; the last is her little tribute area on top of my woodstove in my living room, next to Maggie's tribute area......they are both together again, unfortunately not with me.....
OMG ... Lab puppies are the CUTEST!!!! Seriously... I see why you fell in love with her right away!
Sending you hugs ... birthdays are hard. I know. Shelby's is in October and I think it will be a toughie. But I will do like you, celebrate her AMAZING life and tell her stories to her little sister left here on earth with me.
I love her little shrine! I love her paw print with the glitter and the pink. I have Shelby's paw in a shadow box w/some photos of her in her prime.
What a life Polly had with you .. she had the most amazing life and was loved so much!
I celebrate with you today .. wine and chocolate icecream for me too!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

May this day bring to you some joy, laughter and smiles remembering Polly. She certainly was a beautiful girl.
The loss of a family member is never easy and they are so our family. Many of us know and understand that deep empty hole for sure here. As difficult the loss is, celebrating her life is important for you both and for all of us here.

Happy Hannah made a gazzion cards for her special friends. It's so weird...I'm not sure where she keeps her stash...they see to float down from the cloids...sometimes I thinkg birds carry them gently on their wings and let them float on the breeze.
Lovely celebrationo of life memoria l you have for her on the woodstove.. May the warmth of that woodstove all winter long remind you of Polly''s.warm beating heart nestled safely in yours......and nestled right I. There with Maggie's. Isn't it a glorious thing knowing our hearts are becoming all dog?! I guess.when that transition is complete we've loved and been loved by the best dog souls in the land...then we head on over to the bridge.and become one again

Angel Polly, your time here was too short but what beautiful memories you have left in your people's hearts, and now ours too. Seeing you as that teeny tiny exuberant little puppy put a big smile on all of our faces, that 16 second glimpse into your life is precious!
Bonnie, the photos are so touching, thank you for sharing, for your kindness and all you do for this community even while your own heart is hurting. It's a big honor to be such a part of your journey with Polly, then and always. As hard as I know it is to get through a day like this, I'm guessing that Polly's joy for the time she was here on earth is giving you the strength you need to smile when you recall all the good times.

I think the 'firsts' are one of the hardest part of a profound loss. The first birthday without... the first holiday without... It is a natural thing to think back to what we were doing on this day last year, how things were good.
It does get easier, but you did have 9 birthdays with Polly, this is the first one without. It will take time until these special days are remembered with mostly smiles instead of tears.
Cheers to you for celebrating your beautiful girl today- you are healing. Polly sent you a beautiful day as her gift to you, she is never far from your side.

Thank you all again so much, this was my little celebration to Polly earlier this evening, and my toast of appreciation for all of you who support me, and each other everyday here. My day was surprisingly peaceful....I felt a calm today, which I know was Polly's doing. I had my wine, Frosty Paws for Pearl and honorary one for Polly, and a sweet perfectly pink cupcake with a pink candle for Polly as well. Now, I just need some chocolate that my Pearl and I can share....(just a few peanut M&M's and we are happy.) This day was a perfect day, and I know Polly was with me today, all day.
Alison...As always, thank you... and love your "misery loves company" idea....we do think a lot alike, and don't let the wine glass fool you; after taking the picture, I promptly dropped my dignity and just drank straight from the bottle, lol !
Esther.....I know your pain is still very fresh, but thank you for taking the time to support me today, it means so much.
And Laurie....You as well, just losing your sweet Jake and being here also, my heart just goes out to you in your pain. Yes, I do believe our Tripawd angels are having a huge party everyday.
Linda....Yep, those Labs surely do get under your skin. I do hope you had your own wine and chocolate today, seems that is a requirement for all of us here!

Michelle...My heart truly goes out to you tonight, knowing it would be Sassy's 8th birthday tomorrow.....She was just a young Rottie girl, and seemingly not fair....Polly is with her, and so many other of our angels, if I have to be glad about something regarding this journey we all take, it is knowing our beloved angel Tripawd fur babies are never alone over that Bridge.

Indeed we are soul sisters!!! I will have you know that I had TWO glasses of wine last night (one for Polly and one for Shelby), chocolate and a bowl of coconut ice-cream!! However, that pink cupcake looks divine!
