Michelle, you should read about Dakota's hosting Barney. (It's in his blog but also on the tour map in CO.) We had a very low-key adventure at home, mostly because Dakota did NOT like to get out and about...but also because it's hard to leave the home with a massive hangover.
Shari
From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.
Dakota's thoughtful and erudite blog is at http://shari.tr.....pawds.com/
Omg, I love Dakota's Blog about Barney. It was so great

We were fourth on the Barney Tour, about 3 years ago, Livermore, CA on the tour map. Maggie wasn't feeling very energetic when he came so we hung out at home, went to the park, and watched the Super Bowl. I think Barney needs a slower pace once in awhile so regain his strength and sanity!

WE WANT BARNEY!!
Daisy and I were noticing Barney has never been to Vancouver. We would like to fix that. We have a lot of big plans for Barney, if he is brave enough to come visit. We will show him the Olympic sites in between play time with the beautiful Daisy.
Daisy loves throwing around and chewing her stuffies, and Barney won't be any different.
We promise to show Barney the sites to apologize in advance for any injuries he may get. As we can see, Barney is pretty tough.
Anyways, we are patiently waiting up here in Beautiful British Columbia for Barney.
See you soon.
OOOOH YESSSS! Thank you so much for expressing your interest. I'm sure that Barney will be well taken care of and loved.
Now my question to you is, do you think that International Barney should come visit, or will the North American Barney be the right one? I mean, is Canada foreign country?

Gotta make this quick! Stole my Mom's computer so I could tell you just how much I need a visit from Barney!! I'll share meals with him, play frisbee (he may be the frisbee substitute for a short while), he can ride on me during my walks, a visit to Philadelphia may be in order, we'll party together, and of course sleep on my bed with me. Remmy (my pitbull sidekick) will not be allowed to knaw on him!! Gotta go, I hear you know who coming... Lily
Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
We won't tell you took over the 'puter, Lily. How'd you learn how to type so fast though?
We would LOVE to see Barney visit you and Remmy (who probably won't even want anything to do with him because that purple beast stinks so bad!). Woo hoo!

From looking at the map, Barney has not had the pleasure of visiting the good ol' state of Georgia. Brendol and Aissa would love to host Barney and show him around. And then everyday when I come home, Brendol will grab him and bring him to greet me... that's her thing. Fortunately for Barney, Brendol and Aissa no longer try to de-gut all things fuzzy! Now we just tote them around. And when mom says that their stuffed friends are noy allowed to go outside, they drop them at the door.
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.
You can read their stories at http://adelaide.tripawds.com and http://brendol.tripawds.com
We would really like to host Barney even tho he's been to California I don't think he's visited a farm yet. There are horses to ride, pigs to wallow with, roosters to crow with and of course hanging with the girls, Maggie and Blink. I'm not sure how they would react to Barney. Sometimes they are brutal with their toys and sometimes they ignore them but I will not let any harm come to him. Altho I will have find Barney some overalls. If he really stinks that bad then Blink will roll all over him cuz that's her thing. We are expecting a batch of baby pigs in June, I bet Barney would like to see that!
Shooter here! I would love for Barney to come visit. We could first, and most importantly, enjoy a quiet time on the deck and look at the view of the beautiful mountains and remember Jerry and commune with his spirit.
I'm sure we would have some fun times too, but I will have to keep him away from my little brothers Papi & Frosty as their favorite food group is stuffing! After that a ride to Virginia City to experience the gold rush days and maybe across the divide to Butte for a little mining history.
Last, but not least, a drink at the Longbranch with Marshall Dillon & Kitty. I certainly hope Barney likes a shot of whiskey or a Coors Light!
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Wooo hooo! Barney's gonna be busy!
No matter that he's already been to your state, he goes anywhere and everywhere, multiple times.
Thanks for the interest!

I would love to host Barney. We live on the Central Coast of California and would like to share some of our beautiful sites with him. There is a Golden's in the Park day that hosts over 300 Golden's in June and we would love to show him off if at all possible. If not we would love to take him on some adventures...fishing, swimming, wine tasting, boating, visiting the pre-school where my human sister works, miniature golf, the possibilities are limitless.
I am a natural born tripawd and I want to be able to spread the word to others the importance of canine cancer research so that some day many others will not have to suffer the fate of amputation. My human mom lost a Golden a few years ago to cancer so she does know how devastating it can be to those it touches.
We promise to take good care of Barney (mostly), mend him if needed and send him on his way to his next adventure.
