I am very thankful today for still having my baby Champ with me. In May I didn't know if he'd make it through the summer. I am thankful for finding this website and making me comfortable and confident in the decision to amputate and know that there can be a full life afterwards. The support and knowledge here is unbelievable.

I am thankful for family, friends, having a job, a great landlady who looks at dogs as family as well.

I am thankful for my vets who, although I am a pain in the ass, work with me on the decision I fell strongly about.

I am sorry for those who have lost their furry children recently. It's not fair. May you find peace in the knowledge that you gave them everything you could and loved them so much.

Have a wonderful turkey-day.

Hoppy Thanksgiving indeed! big-grin

Don't miss all the blessings Tripawds members are sharing in this Happy Thanksgiving post.

The poster image below was created by Jerry's overseas pal Sasha for Thanksgiving 2008, shortly after he went to the Rainbow Bridge. And here is a heartwarming Thanksgiving poem about family we posted last year. This is a special time of year considering we picked Jerry up from the hospital with one less leg on Thanksgiving day, 2006.

Well said, Joy!  We're thankful to have you as part of our tripawds family.  And feel like you do - thankful for extra time with Holly, and sad for all the tripawd angels who have gone to the Rainbow Bridge this year.  When we started down this road last winter, I never allowed myself to hope to have Holly here this Thanksgiving - and am so thankful for each day I continue to get her Wheaten kisses.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Holly and Zuzu and Susan

Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Joy you couldn't have said it better.  I look back and am so thankful that I have another Thanksgiving with my girl.  Never thought I'd see this day. It sounds like all of us tripawd parents have so much to be thankful for...it's those little things that bring on so much meaning now.    And I too am so thankful for this wonderful community who has helped so many of us get through our joys and heartaches.  Here's wishing you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving too!

Kami (Mackenzie & Kobe's Mom)

My sweet golden Mackenzie.  She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2  although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home.  She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009.  She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes.  I love you Mackenzie!
