Anyone taking your dog to Santa Paws? We are doing that this year. I always thought it was kind of nuts and cheesy in the past and now it seems like an appropriate thing to do. We never did it before. I can't wait to see how Cadence reacts. She is the kind of dog that notices when something is different and stares. She is not really used to beards. She even stares at me if I wear a funny hat. She looked at me a long time when I first colored my hair a different shade and the other night she watched me put on black tights and was looking at me and studying me a long time as if to figure out why Mom was dark now on the legs when she was supposed to be pale all over?
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!
Cheesy? No way! I went to see him, just weeks after my amputation. You know what he gave me? TWO MORE YEARS! Wooo hoo!
And you know what he gave Tripawd Spokesdawg Wyatt Ray? Hint: It's small, black and you find it in the ground!

I would totally take my three if I knew of one that was nearby. We have a family picture with Santa when Shasta and Nakita were babies that's pretty cute (except you can hardly see little black Kita-bug against my dark green sweater.... I shoulda held the blonde baby.)

Our local humane society hosts these for donations - in fact they're even calling them Santa Paws and Santa Claws (for the cats) now. So, there's the excuse that it's for a good cause, if one feels a little silly taking one's pet for a picture with Santa
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.
Videos and pics of Gerry's pawesomeness can be found at: http://gerry.tripawds.com
OH! How fun!!!
I might have to take MB Rocket this year! Comet would have been too scared so I never have done it. And Rocket probably will be too but, it's Rocket - not Comet!! (he'll get over it!)
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
We took the P.P. to see Santa Paws one year, I have never seen her look so terrified. She looked at me like, "i don't know what I did, but I'll never do it again! Please get me out of here!"
I guess maybe Santa posing with a big, huge, yellow snake just before Shelby got there might have something to do with it.
