Hi all,
It'll be super brief, but Gerry will be on a pledge break (probably the middle one) for an airing of the program Shelter Me (which I saw most of once and highly recommend to all!). The theme of the program, though we'd all like to think everyone already knows this by now, is that animals from shelters/rescues are just as capable of being not just loving pets, but downright productive members of society. So, this program will feature dogs (and some cats) that were adopted from shelters and went on to become service animals, therapy animals, search & rescue, etc. So, the WPT studio in Madison had the idea to bring in local animal therapy teams for their pledge breaks (keep the people watching! ) and Gerry and I will be one of the three teams. It'll only be like a minute or two. Hopefully, I won't flub, since there won't be much time to recover - haha! Just watch the dog, everyone, just watch the dog. Aaaaaand the great Dr. Patricia McConnell ( http://www.patr.....t-patricia ) apparently accepted WPT's invitation to host. Whoa... no pressure there.
So, Wisconsinites, you'll probably have access to the broadcast when it airs on this Monday, Aug. 5th at 7 p.m. ( http://www.wpts.....s-Go-Home/ ).
Everybody, you can find more info on the program (minus Gerry) - when it might be shown in your area, how to order the DVD, etc. - at: http://shelterme.tv/
Enjoy!

I am pretty psyched about the fact that Gerry gets to be on PBS (in our own way), since I first discovered Tripawds through the PBS special Why We Love Cats and Dogs . Really, I might not have Gerry today, if not for seeing that program and the chain of events that followed because of knowing Jerry's story and finding the support of Tripawds.com. (At the least, Gerry would probably have a different namesake, haha). It's cool to think that Shelter Me may similarly change the lives of other people and animals like Why We Love Cats and Dogs did for us and that Ger and I get to be a little bit a part of that.
