Oh, that's interesting about the shepherd/collie. (And hysterical about the Pekingnese, yeah - he probably had just eaten one.) Anyway, we think Abby is a also a shepherd/collie mix. And she was a MAJOR terrorist when she was a pup. (Still can be in fact.) Maybe they are related... Kind of a scary thought.

I'd worry about you sending him on the train to us, but I'm pretty sure he must be on the no fly/no train/no bus/no public transport of any kind list!

Jackie

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Wow! That was a fabulous ride!! Don't need to go out Halloween partying now!

Really great footage and editing John. BBL is one incredible boy! So happy you have him - I could never keep up with him, makes my Border Collie look like he was a normal doggie.

Hang in there Linda he should slow down in a few years - well, maybe!

Linda almost got her battleship sunk a couple of times

Not surprising, since he uses her for target practice on a daily basis.

And if you'd like to give our boy a big hug and kiss, we can arrange that.  Bernie would LOVE to spend a weekend in San Diego!  We'll send him down on the train!

And don't feel like you have to hurry to send him back. Keep him as long as you want.

How did you fasten yours to the harness?? We went with duct tape and stitched over the top of it.

I initially tried the GoPro chest harness, but it has a big flat plate that tended to tilt one way or another when I tried to balance it on Mr. bin Laden's narrow, pointy back. The Ruffwear harness bulked him up a bit, but not enough. So I switched to the vented helmet mount, which is designed to attach the camera to bicycle helmets. Tie that to the side straps on the harness. Then wrap a velcro tie around the stem that attaches the camera to the baseplate, and attach the tie to the handle on the top of the dog's harness. This keeps the camera centered and upright. Look at the photo in my original post on this thread and you'll see.

And I tried duct tape as well, but Bernie gets cranky when you wrap a bunch of it around his head. winker

Too late. If you look at the video about thirty-five seconds into it, you'll see that, unfortunately for anyone in our pool, he already taught himself to fly.

Cowboy up!

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

OK- I have been secretly wihing that BBL would officially join the Monkeybutt ranks but geesh....he is truly in a class by himself. I think the DNA test missed Tasmanian Devil

Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

I actually had a lot more "Bernie cam" footage in the first cut of the video, but soon realized that a little goes a long way in this case. Too much of that rapid-fire bouncing motion is a guaranteed recipe for a headache. Kind of like Bernie himself.
