Ohhhhh me ' now I'm laughing visualizing Shari's Whoopers!!!
Erica, it really does sound like all this is really about is just simply that she peed in the bed, right?? Eating, DRI king, everything g else just fine........she always has little bouts of lowered energy every now a d then so nothing g new there either. The o lay reason she's tired now is the vomiting from the clavamox (aka pelvis) and she didn't even need that anyway.
Point being, there could have been a dozen reasons she peed, none e of which count for a hill of beans. She could have simply been dreaming, just sleeping soundly. So you really have nothing to worry about. If it were not for her other "issues", you wouldn't even tho k twice about it. Eh eh...just crossed my mind, Brudda' probably put her paw in a bowl of warm water wile she was sleeping:-)
She'll be stronger in a day or two once that stupid antibiotic gets out of her system. Lad she's drinking too!!
Now YOU go get some rest and take Jill to the pet store again tomorrow.....it's give ya' a other "warm fuzzy" and I'm thinking you could use one now:-)
Salt's gonna. make so e hugs with tis thing and send 'em to ya' (((((((((((((((((HUGS:-) )))))))))))))))

What's a whoopers?
Erica I'm so sorry, I know this is NOT what you wanted to hear. It's hard when you can't get a firm diagnosis and get on with life, we all expect our knowledgeable vets to have answers, darnit! I know you'll get them though, and hopefully today.
Remember, we animals can read your mind, we sense your feelings, so be strong and Jill will be too OK?

Hi. The drug can cause reaction and also says can react against antacid. Is it possible she may have urine calculi? My eldest cat gets this, looks like a uti but is gravel in urine. She has James Wellbeloved food with cranberry and it controls it well.
Hope Jill is better soon.
OK, I'm starting to feel really annoyed and frustrated with Jill's GP. I realized after I hung up last night that she said "typically in a UTI we would see blood." I wasn't quick enough on my feet and at the time the way she phrased it mustve been thinking VISIBLE blood. I went back to look at the urinalysis, and very clearly, next to Blood it says +++ and next to RBC it says "TNTC" (Too Numerous Too Count). I confirmed with Kelly, my fairy vetmother, and yes, this means there is blood in her urine.
I know vets are human and can make mistakes and she probably forgot but anyway I'm annoyed. I emailed the oncologist to get her opinion, gave her the full story and she said, "yes, there is indeed blood in her urine, let's wait for the full culture to decide what to do."
Meh. On the upside, Jill was feeling much better last night, so much so that she wanted to play instead of letting me sleep.
Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Atta' girl Jill----don't let your Mom sleep and keep those darn vets on there people toes over there!! You just love keeping things stirred up!!
Erica, I know your frustration is off the chart right now but----yet again----it's good news!!
Dealing with human frailties when everything in the world is at stake for our pets--AND our sanity.....is just awfully hard to endure.
Sooooo glad Jill's feeling better----and if it means keeping you up all night playing with you-----then goooooo Jill:-)
Guess that's a little better than getting your attention by peeing all over ya'!!
I still feel very confident that this is just something even "normal" four letters deal with.......wait---they're the abnormals!!
Hang on!! We're with ya'!!

Erica.....Just wondering if your vet....or your onco....would give you anotherr antibiotic for Jill on the assumption it,s a uti...obviously not anything in the clavamox family. When do they expect text back?
How 'bout a picture while we're waiting??
And to JERRY...Shari was referring to WHOOPER candy. It's chocolate covered ..either caramel balls...or malted balls..can't remember which.
So to clarify, I wasn't visualizing Shari's Whoopers....I was visualizing the Whooper candy............or was I?? tee..hee

Yes, they will probably try another antiobiotic assuming its a UTI, should get the final culture results tomorrow, Wednesday at the very latest.
Pictures you ask ???? ASK and you shall receive!

That Jill is so very special!! Don't know how you capture the exact right moment but you sure do!! Of course, every moment with Jill is the RIGHT moment!
The one where she is kissing you is adorable.....but then add that ONE whisker poking out...and knowing the journey behind that one whisker...red I fines adorable:-)
The pictures you take always make me smile:-)
The one by herself though...it took me a minute to realize that's her PAW on top of her head......right? What the heck??:-)
Jill, try and let your momma get some sleep tonight But if you catch her worrying at all....and I do mean AT ALL....go ahead and pee in the bed...that'll change her focus real quick:-)
UST went outside and looked...all the stars are aligned in favor tonight for all black and white three legged cats who put their paw on their read and head butt their mom's.:-)
Narrows it down................

Looks like Jill loves her Mommy very, very much. I am so glad she is feeling better, but hope this whole vet thing gets ironed out so she can get on the road to totally feeling better.
Watch out for those Whoppers!
Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
In that last pic Jill looks like she's utterly exhausted from being in front of the camera!
Too cute.
Sending lots of hugs that today is a better day!

Ok, update - Culture came back completely negative. I asked about the blood in her urine and she said the way the urine sample was obtained, a Cystocentesis (a needle into her bladder), can cause some blood to get into the sample. She is going to call Jill's oncologist to confer about what the next step should be, but at this time, she advises we do nothing. If she pees on herself again or appears really uncomfortable, we can take it from there..............

OH GREATT NEWS JILL AND ERICA:-) GREAT NEWS:-)
Probably worried you sick but Jill's feeling fine:-)
I tell ya' these kinds of "mistakes" under these kinds of "circumstances" just shouldn't happen
Don't know if you remember or not, but in Happy Hannah's case, onco. said her prognosis wasn't as "good" because pathology report of lymph node in amputated leg showed it was effected. When y vet got report he read it to me and said sample was NEVER submitted..........surgeon told onco it must have been eaten up or some kind of crap!! My vet called pathologist himself and she said again...NO sample was submitted.....not a "eaten" up sample......NOTHING WAS SUBMITTED.
So screw the dog ate my homework excuse..
Then, her first weigh-in at surgeon's office two weeks later showed she'd "lost" over 14 lbs. in two weeks!!! Scared me silly!! "They" said, well, her leg weighed a lot....when I asked how much....they said they didn't weigh it!!!!!!! Now my Happy Hannah's a big chunk of a dog.....and as difficult as her recovery was....she. ALWAYS ATE.
Anyway, my vet weighed her later that week and she'd only lost five or six pounds-----and that probably was what her leg weighed..
Oh yeah----and then a platelet count was way off----done a few days later and it was fine.....just a lab screw up:-)
Sorry, guess I had a little pent up RAGE and your missus with Jill brought it to the surface_
So, we were right, Brudda' put Jill's paw in a bowl of warm water and that's what made her pee??
VERY, VERY HAPPY FOR YOU, just ticked you had to go through all that!!!
No stink in' diapers for Jill:-)
Tons of love and happy dance for you!!
