Jill is on clavamox for her suspected UTI and she has been throwing up for about a half hour now a LOT. I'm pretty sure it's just a side effect and will call the vet as soon as they iron but the poor thing won't stop smacking her mouth. Anyone know if a Pepcid or something will help?

Sigh.....

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Salt! I knew someone had to be awake! But then I couldn't get back in the site either. Vet opens in an hour so we'll see. In the meantime I don't have a pic but I managed to get a lip smack on video for ya!

Aww poor Jilly! Antibiotics can be so strong and cause nausea. What did the vet say?

Sorry about the site issues last night. Let us know what kind of issues you were having (i.e., what message did you get when it wouldn't connect). Remember, if you close your browser, wait 10 minutes and relaunch, that usually does it. Sometimes when people try too often to connect over the course of several minutes they will get locked out for 15 or so.

Jill's vet doesn't get in for a few hours, but the vet tech said to hold off on giving her the clavamox today.  Poor thing is NOT feeling well, she came running for her treats this morning but took two bites and then stopped :(

I dont remember exactly what the message said, something like "can't connect to the website at this time"

Oh poor dear Jill!

I don't have any experience with Clavamox, but just wanted you to know we're thinking of you. Is Pepto safe to give kitties? Update us when you know anything.

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Okayyyyyyyyy...we,re waiting for an update over here!!! If this stupid machine types pelvis when I'm typing clavamox like last night, I'm shoot in it!!

It really is probably so related to the clavamox and I'm glad the vet tech had you hold off! Good thing he gained a few ounces (and that really is a good sign)so the puking won't bother her too much.

Okay, now what's this lip smacking kitty bedding on?? Is that fur coat?? Did she just devour some poor critter and you skinned it ad turned it I to her luxurious bed?? I guess that's the real reason she's smacking her lips:-) :-)

Has anyone seen brudda' lately?? Brudda', here brudda'....

Waiting to hear from you.......listening..............listening.....

SALT:-) :-)

Salt I just love you you crack me up after a very long night of no sleep!

There is actually a very  nice story behind that fur coat Jilly is laying on:

http://jillsjou.....strangers/

Brudda is a little too high from catnip right now to be comforting Jill

Still waiting to hear from the vet, but have been in touch with the vet tech all day, vet has been in an emergency all day, but she's aware of the situation and doesn't think it's an emergency and will call me as soon as she has a a minute!

Goooooose bumps up and down, all around!! That fuzzy blanket story does indeed represent the epitome of the heart of "animal people". That ready was a touching gesture....and at a time when the kindness of a stranger must have meant the world to you:-) :-) That Jill is touching soooooo many lives as is the dedication and love you two have for each other. :-) :-) Have you ever been back to that store and have you seen the clerk?? It would brighten her day if you could get her a photo of Jill on her blanket fit for a Queen:-) :-)

Okay, seriously now. SALT WANTS SOME OF BRUDDA'S SO CALLED "CATNIP"!! That cat is on a trip that requires no mode of transportation.....he is flying high above the ground and has no intention of landing anytime soon!:-) :-) :-) :-) :-) That photo is wonderful...but without your captions, just another cat high on weed:-)

So glad Jill is better and maybe you can get a good night's sleep snuggled with Jill on her blanket and injecting some of brudda' catnip" directly into your main artery :-) :-)

Thanks for the giggles:-) :-) Salt and Happy Hannah

You are right Salt, it was at a time when I needed it, it was the night before Jill's surgery and it just totally warmed my heart, made me cry.  We go into that store all the time - it's right next to my apartment, so I go in there on my way home from the vet to say hi with Jill and I've shown her tons of pics of Jill on the blankie.

Here is an update.  Jill's vet has called the lab to get an update on the culture and so far, it is totally negative for any signs of a UTI.  Hmph.  So based on that we will definitely stop the clavamox for now (she said the vomiting was almost definitely caused by that).  We'll get the final result from the culture in a couple more days.............if it turns out NOT to be a UTI, it's really a mystery unless it happens again, then we'll have to explore further..........

For now, Jilly seems to be feeling ok, she's drinking water and eating some.  She's definitely very tired and, if this is possible, being clingier than usual.

I hope Jill's belly is better now, but honestly, if she hadn't had a belly ache I wouldn't have snorted Whoppers out my nose reading about Salt's pelvis. Sorry Jilly--but sometimes you just gotta laugh. Even with a belly ache.
