Yes, it's true. I can hardly believe it, but then Eurydice has always had magical powers and now she's an angel, it seems they are truly limitless. A few days ago a mysterious package arrived here at Pie Palace.

It was ostensibly from the South of France, but it was clear that was just a staging post. It had travelled much further than that. Just look at the number of labels!... When  they opened it first thing this morning, Elsie and Meg found gifts inside, beautifully wrapped and a magical card from Angel Eurydice herself, and her earthly helper, sweet Teresa. 

Elsie and Meg tore open the paper, and inside they discovered the most delicious biscuits ever. 

Eurydice has always had the palate of a true gourmet, said Meg, and Elsie Pie agreed. Remember all those delicatessens she visited on her travels, she said, and the drool was pouring from the corners of her mouth down onto the carpet. The girls had Angel Eurydice's biscuits for a very special Christmas breakfast and they both agreed that they were the nicest biscuits they'd ever eaten. It's because they are magical biscuits, I said. You can't bake biscuits like that. 

Tell us again about when you met Eurydice, they said.

And so I told them again about those wonderful, crazy, happy, sad 24 hours in the south of France. How the band played for Eurydice and her Mum and I danced, and how Eurydice galloped along the beach, ears flapping wildly, full of joy. And is she really as big as a cow, Elsie asked. Very nearly, I said.

And then Elsie and Meg felt a little bit sad because they never got to meet Eurydice. You'll meet her one day, I said. We'll all meet. You and me and Eurydice and Angel Billie, and all the other sweet angels who've gone to the bridge, too many to name, but not one of them forgotten, and safe in our hearts until we meet again.

That will be a very happy day, said Meg.
