I finally got around to making a video tribute to Nitro. I first heard this song several years ago and knew I would one day use it as background music to celebrate his life. It is beautiful, and touching, heartfelt and sad. I cry when I hear it, as I still cry for him. Here is a small taste of our life together.
Paula and Warrior Angel Nitro
Nitro 11 1/2 yr old Doberman; right front amp June 2014. Had 6 doses carboplatin, followed by metronomic therapy. Rocked it on 3 legs for over 3 years! Exhaling now! I think I held my breath the whole time while biting my lip trying not to cry! It didn't work! I did have a lot of smiles throught the tears though....a lot!!
I love the ones of you two lounging around. He always had to be close to you, didn't he? He thoroughly enjoyed being your buddy, your pal, your friend. He even seemed to enjoy hamming up for all the photos of "Nitro being Nitro",'especially the selfies with you! You captured two hearts blending into one beautifully.
I love the little tribute area you set up for him. I'm glad you included the Cardinal. That was such a profound gift from Notro that day.
And those ears, especially when he was a youngster! 🙂 And he even used one of those gorgeous ears to shade your eye when you were sunbathw with him! He sure did love sunbathing with you!
Yes Paula, that song could NOT be more perfect!! I think we should change the name to "Nitro's Anthem". And it was a gift to us all. I know I wasn't the only one who found comfort in those lyrics. It re.inds us all that our $pirit Beings want nothing more for us than to think of them with a smile
in our hearts and a KNOWING that they are always with us
You put together a MAGNIFICENT .MASTERPIECE for a MAGNIFICENT MASTERPIECE OF A DOG!! This boy, this MAJESTIC NITRO, really, really did live a joyous life full of so much love and adoration! And he lived that way every single moment, whether on four legs or three, whether as a puppy or as a senior! Nitro truly did live life to the fullest and offers so much hope to anyone starting this journey! We ALL want more time. We ALL agree it's never enough time with our beloved dogs and cats. And we can also agree that we need Warriors like Nitro to show everyone that statistics don't mean squat! Their dog could be the next Nitro! Their dog could beat the odds because they've seen it happen with Nitro!
We salute you Nitro! We thank you for gracing us with your presence for all these years. And Paula, thank you, and John a d Kodi for sharing this jojrney with us. Your tribute is so heartfelt

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

It takes a strong woman to recognize the error of her ways so publicly!!! 
HOWEVRR, this omission is so egregious, Im not sure an "apology" is enough! So in order to honor ALL the specialness of Nitro, you still have a chance to redeem yourself! Ohhhh yeah......we'll be watching for a post of THAT picture right here, right now!!

Ohhhh you got me with the song, I got all teary-eyed. What perfect music for a perfect tribute. That last photo of Nitro is like how I picture him with all his angel buddies, having a ball and ruling the pack. What a sweetie.
And Sally, I think that grape Otter Pop that Nitro is licking counts as ice cream 😉

That was such a beautiful tribute, the music fit the video. You did him a beautiful justice Paula. Even though I never had the privilege of meeting him, or you for that matter, I know he was a special dog. That ring you had made is really beautiful. I have sat here for years trying to think of something that I could do to keep a piece of Rosie close to my heart. I was going to get her paw print tattooed but when I opened the bag the dryness of the air had cracked it in half, it had never even been touched. That ring has stayed on my mind ever since.
That is the bestest ice cream picture!!! I can see why Sally barked at you now

Warren Zevon is one of my favorites and that song is near and dear to my heart as well.
For those not familiar with Warren's story, he was much more than 'Werewolves of London'. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer and wrote that song and put out his last album while he was battling cancer.
