Thank you Pam, Dawnie, and Sally......and Sally, I am rendered speechless from your beautiful, and loving post, I often have a lack-luster view of myself for the most part, but you have a way of making me feel worthy as a human beyond words.....I guess that is because you are the queen of soulful, angelic existence in this community, our guiding light in the darkness......Pam, thank you for your comforting words, and you are so right about the "gingerly tip-toeing around between self-sacrifice and self-preservation" an amazing description for many of us for sure.....Dawnie, thank you for your insight as well, I love having so many valuable thoughts of wisdom sent my way when deciding on such a life-changing opportunity.
Keeping you all within my heart,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
I'm late to the conversation, but want to add just a line. Some of us are 'chosen' for the hard cases. We don't find them, they find us. Let your heart lead you. You know what you are capable of and if you are ready and willing to give all it will take. Bless you for even considering the possibility.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

Thank you Shanna, your words of wisdom and support helped my heart out so much........and yes, that is the one thing in life I have learned to do, is listen to my heart; after taking this journey with Polly, I have been listening very closely to it, more than I ever have in my life.
Love,

Hi Bonnie,
I am also late to the conversation but I think you made the right decision. You have such a huge heart I could understand you wanting to take this pup. But it sounds like the pup will have a great home and your family is not quite ready for another heartache. It really is hard for family to see us upset and sometimes we forget that. One day the stars will align, your family will be on board and you will have a new pup or dog to love.
