It's taken me a couple days to post on here. I am deeply saddened to say that Scheherazade (Raz) crossed over to the Rainbow Bridge on Friday morning. She was diagnosed with a fibrosarcoma on April 15, had her rear leg amputated on April 17, and had the most wonderful 3 weeks post-recovery. Her last couple weeks we started to see a drop in energy. Eventually, she started exhibiting more signs of pain, and I knew we were getting close.
Kho has been really sweet. I moped around most of yesterday, and he checked on me regularly, made biscuits, and had some precious face snuggles (when he lies down as close to your face as possible).
The things I miss most are Raz's little squeaks and her doors scratches in the morning, concerned that I'm not waking up to my first alarm. She was young, I only had her for 4 years, but she was my first pet that I had on my very own. We tried to make a blue pawprint before we brought her to her the vet and we failed miserably! They gave us an ink print which was much better, along with a tuft of her fur.
Raz is whole now, all four legs, all her claws, and I'm sure she has found the BEST sunny spot near the bridge and is chittering away at all the birds and squirrels.
As impossibly hard this was to write through your tears, you wrote from uour jeart woth an eloquence and grace that made Raz sooooo pric. To be avle ro weave in some of the happy memories you shared is a testament to your dev and your deep bond. But we already knew your bond, your love. It came thro woth every word and every adorable picture.
Yes, her time was short, was too short in human terms.. But all she knew, all she ever needed to kmow, was your love and the joy you brought her while in her earth clothes. Neither sshe, nor you, would have traded that extra gloriously happu bonus time. The extra treasured nemories uou created during that time are truly sacred.
Pay attention for "signs. I almost "sense" you will "hear" her voice and her door scratches again.
It's such a privilege to know Raz, you and Kho. Thank you for that gift.
Surrounding you with love and light, and a little bit of scratching noise
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Wow it's so hard to believe she was only four. In her short but sweet life she touched so many, and we are furever blessed to have known her if only for a little while. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your journey with her, Raz' story will always be remembered in the community.
Be good to yourself, spoil Kho rotten and know that Raz is never far from either of you. True love never fades.
(((hugs)))) xoxoxo
