First, I'm so glad you got Jolie and Mignon HOME!!! I hope the trip home went well!

Second YAY Mignon is eating!!

Third - (I will apologize now for all the questions I have. Feel free to ignore me if you would rather not say. IT IS OK. No offense will be taken)

What explanation are they giving you on Jolie & the reason they took the tube out?

Did they send you home with any meds to help, and if so, what?

As far as the renal liquid diet, I have no experience to share, but I am thankful they sent you home with a liquid diet.

Are you trying to syringe it? And Jolie won't swallow it? The only thing I can think for you to try is to dab the liquid diet on Jolie's nose; instinctually, they will lick that off. It may get things started, but guaranteed no; it's worth a try!!! Also, warming the liquid may help.

We understand the finances and can well imagine what this cost and I have no words but so much empathy for all you are going through.

We are here. If we can help in any way, shout. OK, you are not alone !!!

((((HUGS))))

They gave a mix of medicines in powder in a pouch that I have to transfer to capsule. Cerinia and stomach coating and blood cell production stimulant I think.

The renal formula is like milk. I have to get 240cc (8 30 cc syringes) into him every day ; it's just too much because he won't take it. The formula is 20 dollars a 200 ccbottle. That's 600 dollars a month plus meds and hospital visits. Plus the ivs the saline solution, other meds etc. I just can't handle it. He is becoming anemic again, meaning more continuous tests and hospital visits. You can imagine the cost.

I don't know how I will handle it from here on....

I know I've said this at different stages of Jolie's treatment, but you have done far more than most can or are willing  to do.  Regrettably,  ever so regrettably,  I have not been able to do as mich as I would like for my dogs sometimes because of lack of finances.  Even when a "treatment" or "surgery " or further expensive testing could be "curative" or providing  quality  extension and to not be able to afford it is gutwrenching .  It's a "guilt"   that never goes away.

Jolie is a senior kitty and is in his  sunset years of life.     Your exquisite   care and love is what has given him the best earth journey a cat can have and a longevity beyond an "average" life span.

For him to be home with you now,  being stress free from hospital  prodding  and poking is the best "care" for making him comfortable and content.   Jolie will decide  when he's ready to transition  and today is not the day nor is tomorrow.   So just continue  to take things one day at a time, cherish  it and celebrate  it.

Heck, he may even want to eat a little bit in a day or so now that he is out of the hospital!  Give him the meds uou are able to get in him and maube they will help

How 'bout sending  me some more pics of the boys together at home to post.  They are such a cute pair.♥️♥️

I have been inundated with sorrow. But Mignon is eating regularly it seems. Jolie ate one dry snack and a tube snack. I was able to syringe feed him softened dry food and give them both their medicines. I will try to feed Jolie some renal formula a bit later.

No apology Or explanation is needed. Yes, we know you & would be too!!! Just no words, we UNDERSTAND!!!

I am delighted to hear Mignon is doing so well,🙌🏻 and I am delighted to hear Jolie ate one kibble and tube thats better than he was doing. BRILLINAT, so happy to hear you were able to syringe food and meds.  He is swallowing now you have made progress in hours. Take each hour as it comes. You just never know now that they are home with you. Home is medicinal in itself.

Yes HOME SWEET HOME BOYS!!!I never said, WELCOME HOME BOYS!!!

Your guys remind me so much of our boys and how much they adore each other, the best of brothers.💝💝💝

Yes, Mignon is concerned & watching Jolie closely. Im glad to see they are back to being brothers.

I hope you were able to get more food in Jolie and that he ate another crunchy or snack tube on his own; the dear boy has been through so much!!

Give them both a healing smooch from us, please. We continue sending all goodness, positivity, and prayers your way.
Thanks for posting, Sally.

Oh these boys just love each other so much, you can see it in the photos. Thanks for adding them Sally.

We all understand about having to make decisions because of finances. I cannot even imagine what all of the vet care has cost you lately, I'm sorry you are faced with these huge expenses. Please know you are doing everything possible. All of us have to make decisions about care based on what we can financially afford to handle. And you know what I've discovered here? Is that in the rare cases when money is not an issue, sometimes not even all the money and vet care in the world can help a situation get better.

But you know what does help? Following your gut instinct. Love. And being present with your boys. Not being stressed about more credit card bills. Just being there for them, doing your best. That's the best medicine there is. It will hopefully help Jolie bounce back 100%. It appears to be working! I'm so happy they are eating, they are home, and they are with you. That's the best anyone could hope for in a situation like this.

Thank you for asking so many great questions Holly. You have such a cool head during such stressful times!

Edward we are thinking of you and the boys and sending lots of sp_hearticon2sp_hearticon2
