I'm sorry Mignon is not feeling well; kitty aspirin? I am not sure what you are referring to. Has the vet prescribed this? Aspirin scares me unless the vet knows and or has prescribed it than ignore my concern, Feel better, Mignon, please.

I'm glad they are putting in a feeding tube. Hydration and getting food in are crucial to helping Jolie. Jolie can even come home with the tube in and make life less stressful for you both. I.e., not having to syringe feed so often until he returns to eating on his own accord.

Did they say what else they are doing for Jolie? Pain meds antinausea?

Give Jolie a healing kiss from us while you are there please!

As Holly said, Jolie could even co e home with a feeding tube.  I know dogs jave done that with pancreatitis and, slowly but surely, things turned around.

It doesn't  surprise  me that Jolie hasn't  shown "improvement" yet.  It takes awhile.  I know  being patient  is really, really head!  Healing just doesn't  happen overnight though.

I came to my office a little while ago from visiting with Jolie.   The nursing staff told me Jolie is so stoic and patient as he goes through his treatment, inserting the feeding tube etc.  He has been such a good soul through all of this.  He has not vomited any after starting the feeding tube last night (that is about 14 hours) and is peeing regularly.  While I was visiting him he just sat there so stoical and calm.'  It's heart-rending.

I wish there was something more I could do to get him feeling better.....

The vet is going to call me later with an update on his tests...........

This is a PAWSITIVE update and of course Jolie is a good patient soul thru this. He is a fighter and working on getting home to you.

Edward please know the feeding tube is a very good thing right now. Try not to look at the feeding tube as negative it's a blessing for now and a way to get Jolie all he needs to heal he will get back to eating on his own when he feels better. I have a link in my head, I have to find it and will dig around for it on how helpful a feeding tube is to get them back to themselves and nothing negative about it.

A blessing when needed truly.

Keep the faith and we will continue to send all our goodness, tripawd power and prayers to Jolie .

Also hope Mignon is feeling better. I know he misses Jolie but hope he is not puking etc anymore!

Give Jolie another healing scratch and kiss when you see him again and thank you for keeping us updated!

Feeding Tubes For Cats Lisa A. Pierson, DVM

Feeding tubes save lives and are not used as often as they should be for anorexic patients.

This is not the article in my head but same message - ill look for the one sitting in my brain🙄

And if Jolie comes home with the tube, I say once again, I want you to think of this as a short-term gift & relief for you and Jolie to get him well enough to want eat on his own! That is the goal in any assisting feeding syringe or tube is to help them heal and get them their needed calories in a day - https://icatcar.....g-tube.pdf

You are doing EVERYTHING possible for Jolie.....far more than many would or could!!!  The Vets are utilizing  the best possible  methods to help turn things around.

Agree  with Holly, this is a pawsitive update!  He's getting nutrition,  rest and giving his body time to heal.  Really glad you fot to seond some time with him.  I know that did both of you some good.

OH no, Edward I'm so sorry to read this.

Three days of eating or drinking nothing? A cat should never go 3 days without eating. We need to fix this ASAP; Mignon will be dehydrated and full of acid from not eating, and it's not good. Can you syringe feed him while you discuss what's going on with the vet? He might need anti-nausea meds and appetite stimulants, anti acid.  He may be reacting to Jolie's absence or something else is happening.

We can 100% relate to your stress and the toll it takes having two kitties not feeling well! We have been there and done that. It's a horrible time. It is one thing none of us think of bringing our little kitten littermates home, both aging together and things going wrong,

While looking for the one article, I came across this one I had saved. Read the part on - assist feeding for Mignon please.

This was one I saved for Jolie.

Please call the vet and see what they suggest for Mignon & get update on Jolie.  I hate, hate, hate to think or see both the boys needing to be hospitalized.

We are sending more tripawd power & prayers for you all!!!!!

I went to the hospital to visit Jolie and talk to the vet about Mignon.

Jolie stood up to greet me meowing and purring. I brought him clean clothes. The nursing staff is kind and offered to write his name in the clothes so they won't go missing.

Mignon is still hardly eating and he is too hard to syringe feed so I must bring him to hospital in the morning. I hope he survives until then.

Jolie is still not eating on his own.

I am trying to be hopeful......

I just responded to your pm, and you answered one of my questions here.

Oh, Jolie, is so happy to see you. I find that to be a pawsitive sign! Jolie is still receiving supportive food and fluids at the hospital. I'm assuming yes?

Ok, on Mignon, it is best to have him looked at. They can prescribe meds to help him.

Remember, they changed the boy's food, right? (now both are sick, so do inquire about that)  I put that in my response to your pm too.

We wholeheartedly understand what you are going through, and we wish it on no one. It is  He--!!! (((HUGS))))

Hang in there and keep trying on Mignon. Anything you can try, you haven't .

Give Mignon a healing kiss from us, please, and another to Jolie when you see him again.

We will watch for your updates and continue our prayers for you all!!! We are sending you our strength so we know extra is needed in times like this.

Thank you so much. Yes Jolie is still in hospital and I feel he is in good care. He is still on iv and feeding tube.

They did some additional imaging on Jolie today and I am waiting for the vet to call with an update.

Ypu do have good news on Jolie....alert, engaged, eager to greet you with purrs and meows.  The feeding tube is clearly  making him feel better.

As long as his vitals are good and he is stabilizing,  you might be able to take him home.  Yes, feeding tube can remain intact and you can continue  that at home.  Definitely  doable.

So sweet that Jolie is going to have his clothes "monogrammed" "😉

Paws crossed Mignon's situation  gets figured  out and solutions are in place.  Guessing he will need fluid IV and possible  feeding  tube too and that should help tremendously.

Your boys sure do know how to keep you on your toes!

Yes, Ditto, Sally!!! Ask if Jolie can come home with the tube. It would be helpful on all counts for Jolie, Mignon, you, and finances. Do let them know about the funds. Sometimes, they need to be made aware. It does not mean you are not doing everything for your boys. YOU have and ARE.

Prayers and tripawd power for both the boys. I have a battery candle going for the boys and will continue; it won't burn out; it's safe:) We will be waiting to hear how today goes. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
