We came to the hospital and other tests came out ok but he has developed pancreatitis, which he had already last August.  He is being admitted to hospital to see if it can be put under control. This is a tough one.

Yes, pancreatitis is a tough one but he's where he needs to be right now for good treatment. I've had dogs who have had it too and it took a couple of days in the hospital to turn things around, but it always got turned around.

Sending lots and lots of prayers👏👏♥️

He started vomiting again. First just his water. Then gray sticky fluid with red flecks. When I tried to syringe feed him he vomited bile. My vet is in today thank goodness. We discussed on the phone and she said he had to be admitted for at least a couple of days to see if they can get the pancreatitis under control. All of the other tests results came out well, the blood count came out really well, even the one for infections...

Excellent that all the other tests came back good. I'm sure they are giving antinausea and fluids, pain meds, etc.

Try to get some rest, Edward, and I KNOW how hard it is to shut your mind off while Jolie is in the hospital. Hold onto that he is in the best of hands right now. I'm glad to see your vet is on !!  Hopefully you can go see Jolie tomorrow and see for yourself he is recovering. Im so sorry you guys sure did not need another issue to deal with.

This might give you hope, Edward. It happens and is treatable, as Sally stated. Enough punches I say.

Ensure they send Jolie home with antinausea meds. I would love to see you come home with both as stated before.

The other thong to remember  is Jolie is one tough kitty!!!  That goes a long way!

I'm really glad the Vets figured he had pancreatitis so quickly.  Often it's hard to diagnose  and a lot of time is wasted before the real problem is addressed. At least with my dogs, It took time to turn things around sometimes,  so don't  be too concerned  if signs of improvement take several days, okay?

You are siuch a powerful advocate  for Jolie!  Hang in there!!!  The two of you are a powerful team!

Hugs

Jolie had pancreatitis last aug-sep.finally got it under control and started eating again mid October. Then his leg flaired up and the amputation in December. A separate test is needed to detect pancreatitis. His pancreatitis is chronic so I wouldn't be surprised if it has been lingering in the background just waiting to lunge.i did mention  to the vet before that he had had pancreatitis....I don't think the previous vet sent a complete history of treatment....

So the Vet where Jolie is being hospitalized now knows about the previous pancreatitis, right?

wouldn't be surprised if it has been lingering in the background just waiting to lunge.i

I do think I remember they can be prone to flare-ups once they have it.

Again, the important thing is you are on top of it and so is his vet team.

How is Mignon dealing with this? Probably a lot better than you, right?😉😉

Try and get some rest and know that Jolie is in good hands.

Poor Mignon's condition has been down since yesterday. He has been vomiting.  I think he is depressed.  I gave him some feline aspirin and hope he will be better.

Jolie is still in hospital. There is no change in the pancreatitis numbers. He is still not eating so they are putting in a feeding tube tonight. I will be visiting and talking to the vet tomorrow. If only he would start eating.....

Oh Edward! I'm sorry about Jolie's condition, just catching up now. At least he is in hospital and getting the care he needs right now. Hopefully Mignon's condition is on the upswing. I can only imagine how much stress you are feeling! Stay strong and as Sally mentioned earlier, Jolie is one tough kitty and knows how to fight illness.
