Hi Everyone!
Thank you to everyone who cheered us on during pre- and post-surgery with Luna the tortie tripawd. I'm sorry it's taken two months before giving an update. Her surgery was March 8. She did well -- with one complication of an infection and more meds -- and now she is up and about and free to go all over the house. She still loves to climb and we have several stools and ramps placed around the house for her to use for coming down.
The only remaining issue is litter box troubles. She pees in the litter box but continues to poo on the carpet in different areas around the house. We have a box on each level of the house, 3 boxes for 2 cats. We are planning to add another to see if she'll use one for pee and one for poo. We are also using litter box attractant. Hoping we can get this issue resolved soon.
Caryn aka Luna's mom
Hi Caryn, glad to hear that Luna is doing well. The poop thing seems like an unusual issue. I have the same setup - 3 boxes for 2 cats, except I keep them all in the same room (my guest bathroom). My 4-legger sometimes pees outside the litterboxes, but they always poop in there. My 3-legger has no issues using the boxes, but he's a rear-legged amputee. Did you change litterboxes, or litter? Or the arrangement? Maybe Luna needs a box with higher sides so she can lean on it? Maybe even try camera(s) to watch what she does. Also I'm not familiar with a litterbox attractant, can you please share what the product is?
So happy to read this spectacular update! This is why we do what we do!
When we see the light at the end of the recovery tunnel and our pets returning back to normal with such a zest for life, it is so rewarding.
Don't have any insight into the litter box scenario, but Jet's hooman maybe came up with some solutions for you.

Hey that's great news, no need to apologize, you've been through a roller coaster! Glad the ride is over and she's doing pretty well.
I really wish I had some insight on the litterbox situation but I don't unfortunately. Jet's questions are spot-on, I'm looking forward to seeing your answers and finding out if the new litterbox helps.
Paws crossed that new litter keeps working! 👍 Yet another tip for kitties of thos does the trick
