Meet Tripawd Queenie, the courageous kitty who never let amputation slow her down! Today’s Tripawd Tuesday celebrates her resilience, proving that love and determination can help any pet thrive on three legs.
Introducing Tripawd Queenie, the Fearless Feline!

Queenie is living proof that nothing can stop a determined and loving cat. Named after the legendary band Queen, she loves lounging on the patio, zooming around the house, and cuddling with her mom, Deanna, in Oklahoma—showing that a tripawd life is full of joy and adventure!
Here is Queenie’s beautiful and inspiring story!
Tripawd Tuesday Q&A: Queenie’s Story
How old is your Tripawd?
7 years old
When and why did your Tripawd lose a leg?
She was diagnosed in March 2024 with Injection Site Sarcoma in her left hind leg. We had never heard of it before and we had owned pets for years! It was a shock to understand what it could do to her and what our only option was to save her. At first we had the sarcoma removed via surgery, because we wanted to spare her leg, but they didn’t get all of it unfortunately, so we had a difficult decision to make less than a month later with the amputation.

How did your Tripawd adapt to life on three? Did the reality match your expectations?
At first it was a challenge, but we don’t have any stairs in our house, so there isn’t much to hinder her. Most of our furniture is low to the floor. Queenie runs better than she walks (or hops, like a bunny). She can run very fast when she wants to! Wooden floors can be slippery for her now, though, and I think she forgets about this sometimes.
What are your Tripawd’s favorite things to do?
She likes her kicker cat toy, and she will stay all day outside on the back patio, sleeping underneath the pergola if we let her. That’s her favorite spot. She uses the doggy door to come in and eat and do her business, and then she goes right back out again.
What is the biggest lesson you learned from your Tripawd so far?
She adapted in ways we didn’t think possible. We thought she would be depressed about the missing leg, but nature really makes up for it. Animals are amazing. She still shows us all the love she did before the amputation, with the purring and the cuddling.

What is your best advice to someone who is about to go through amputation with their pet, or someone who is thinking of adopting a Tripawd?
It’s just a leg; that pet will still love you if you love them. Nothing will change after they recover from the surgery.
