Today is the second annual Giving Tuesday. This annual celebration is one way that we can give something back to cause that means a lot to us. In honor of Tripawds Founder Spirit Jerry on the date that he earned his wings, the third of the month, we hope you’ll participate by doing just do one thing today to make the world a better place for three-legged heroes.
What is Giving Tuesday?
This celebration of giving began last year. According to the Giving Tuesday website,
#GivingTuesday™ (#GT) is a movement to create a national day of giving to kick off the giving season added to the calendar on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
The second annual GivingTuesday is on December 3, 2013. In the same way that retail stores take part in Black Friday, we want the giving community to come together for #GivingTuesday. We ask that partners create and commit to a project for/on #GivingTuesday and then help spread the word to their networks.
It’s a simple idea. Just find a way for your family, your community, your company or your organization to come together to give something more. Then tell everyone you can about how you are giving. Be a part of a national celebration of our great tradition of generosity.
While a financial gift to help keep Tripawds online would be greatly appreciated, keep in mind that your act of giving doesn’t have to involve money. From sharing a bit of your time by educating the world about life on three legs via social media, to submitting a guest blog post about your favorite Tripawd-oriented subject, you can make the world a better place today.
We hope you’ll share your Giving Tuesday celebration by chiming in in the Tripawds Discussion Forums and on our Facebook page! Be sure to tag your posts #GivingTuesday. Thanks so much.
