…Dakota lost a front leg at 9 to a soft tissue sarcoma. Our vet was hesitant to mention amputation so I did. He seemed relieved I said it first. Dakota was not a confident patient, but with lots of encouragement he found he was capable.
A favorite memory after surgery was being outside in the snow and Dakota hopping up, grinning and wagging. The only way out was his dog door, so he accomplished that on his own and was so proud. That was about a week after surgery… [Full story with more photos.]
