Olympus always makes me smile when I see her avatar. Gosh, a senior seven, eight months out after amputation...GREAT JOB!

Hopefully someone can chime in with specifics way to help. I'm sure you've alreay thought of carts, wagons harnesses, etc. Itsw amazing how dogs seem to love riding in wagons or strollers...not all, but most.

How is she doing overall?

Love

Hi Sally (benny55)!

She is doing really well other than the last few days with her other leg giving her trouble. She has been swimming this summer which is really cool to see. She is keepin gher weight at a good place.

Here is a video of her swimming for the first time: https://goo.gl/.....oCpvc5LXz5

Yes, I'm looking for a used wagon as well, thanks for the confirming suggestion.

I'll be measuring her today to know exactly what cart/wheelchair will fit her best.

Thanks so much for asking!

Hi Gonzo! It's good to hear from you. If you or your humans want to talk I'm in the Tripawds Chat Room for a bit.

What kinds of signs has Gonzo given that she needs a chair? Please keep in mind that it's not advisable to use a wheelchair without working directly with a certified rehab vet. The wrong size can actually do more harm than good. Here's a post about it:

When and How a Dog Wheelchair Can Help a Tripawd

If working with a rehab vet isn't possible at this time (and remember, Tripawds Foundation will cover your first consult), then a doggie stroller would be a safer bet than putting her in a wheelchair right now (and yep, there are some for Gonzo's size!).

Hi Jerry!

Thanks so much for commenting. What I am seeing is that she is getting older, and there is a lot of stress on her only front leg. It seems some days it is painful.

Actually, I didn't know about what you just said, and that is very helpful. I just obtained a wagon that would be roomy for her. I will start working with that and read up on your info!

Thanks so much!

Love the video of her swimming! clap I wish my dogs liked the water.  I like the other dog encouraging her along, too smiley
