Avatars reactivated sitewide. That mean ol' Admin dude is still working furiously to complete the theme overhaul. We could both use a drink, or two.

@cometdeer As reported in that other topic, the Akismet servers have recently had some connectivity issues that may be causing new comments to be viewed as first comments, thus requiring moderation. This is beyond our control and unrelated to site performance or our efforts to address such.

Admin, it has been awhile since the speed and performance of the tripawds page has been discussed, but after something that happened to me it might be well if this were brought up. I have had high speed internet for long enough that I have forgotten what slower connections were like, but ALSO long enough to forget what faster connections are like… if that makes sense, but long story short I called my provider to upgrade my broadband speed and after the upgrade EVERTHING was crawling.. a call to them and a service guy later – they discovered that a cable tv trap installed on my line to prevent me from receiving tv through internet cable had interfered with recent upgrades to their service. once that was removed I now have lightning speed on everything including the forums here, so if anyone is still having performance issues a call to your provider may be in order.

You scared us there for minute … thought you meant things were crawling after our site upgrade!

Glad you got the local issue worked out with your provider. Thanks for sharing this information!
