Jake's blog got bombarded with a ton of spam messages today! At least 15 so far… I'm glad that we get to approve our comments first, but is there any other way to stop these evil and annoying spammers? Are they going after everyone's blogs, or did we just get targeted?

Jake, 10yr old golden retriever (fractured his front right leg on 9/1, bone biopsy revealed osteosarcoma on 9/10, amputation on 9/17) and his family Marguerite, Jacques and Wolfie, 5yr old german shepherd and the newest addition to the family, Nala, a 7mth old Bengal mix kittie. Jake lost his battle on 11/9/2009, almost 8 weeks after his surgery. We will never forget our sweet golden angel… http://jakesjou.....ipawds.com ….. CANCER SUCKS!

As a Tripawds Supporter, you have access to two plugins in your dashboard that should help protect your blog from being slammed by spam comments — TypePad AntiSpam and WP-SpamFree. I took a look and noticed you had not activated either, so I just did that for you.

You should now receive less Spam. And yes, the evil spammers attack everybody so don't take it personally.

FYI: All Tripawds Blogs include the TypePad AntiSpam plugin. Everyone should activate this upon creation of their blog. The WP SpamFree plugin is available to Supporters and provides enhanced spam protection. It allows allows members to easily include a contact form on their blog which is also protected from spam abuse. For configuration and installation instructions see Setting -> WP-SpamFree.
